I have watched other people play this but you are the most entertaining so far. everyone else is very bland with excitement. I can tell you enjoy this game by your tone and all. Others just don't have it.

I have a great tip for you Charlie. When you were placing the sawmill and got the small red dot, that smaller red dot was saying you couldn't terraform, but if all of the larger dots are green and you click anyway, it will actually force the tiny bit of terraforming to happen instantly, which will then turn the dot green, letting you place the building and squeeze buildings a tiny bit closer together. Be careful, though, as this can sometimes cause graphical glitches with the dirt clipping through the texture of a road or paved area of a building. My gravel production building has one of it's parking spaces buried from my shenanigans, and it's kinda ugly. Also, when the dump trucks park there, they follow the curvature of the terrain and are parked leaning sideways. For a second less objectively useful tip, please use the better excavator, not only is is a bit faster for not that much more money, but I think cable shovels are just the coolest machines, and I really like seeing their little animation in the game. They are just so different from modern excavators, and I love it. Please get some in your game before they quit making them, I may be the only one who cares, but I would greatly enjoy seeing some good old fashioned shovels running around doing any demolition work you have later on.

I agree, the miss-clicks not being so brutal is amazing, I've ruined cities by just accidentally miss-clicking and then boom no power to whole city and everyone just leaves.

I've been watching the whole series until now pretty much non stop, and I really enjoy it. The "slow" paste is actually really comforting, but I wouldn't dislike more timelapses. But as one that haven't played or watched this game before, the slow paste do really get you to understand very thing happening, which is really nice!

Long comment! From the POV of someone who is very interested in money. Kind of would be interesting, but unrealistic, if the republic would have it's own currency in game. Not to really spend it - you already spend foreign currency on buying the goods and spend the goods like one would spend money in other games. But as a kind of last resort if you max out your available amount of credit. My way of thought being that possibly the loans the player takes to stay afloat being bonds in local currency that other countries take in return for interest. So if the player has run out of credit, he can devalue the currency by whatever-they-want percent against the rouble for a temporary penalty in happiness, maybe loyalty + potentially higher interest in subsequent loans for the next 2 or 3 years. And the player could then take out more loans until the state can balance the budget. The other way around, if the player increases the value of the currency against the rouble it gives a slight temporary boost in public opinion and maybe loyalty but in turn exports are slightly less profitable but imports are cheaper. It would be interesting because i love looking at graphs and that would be an interesting thing to see because it is 100% influenced by only the player. And it could make it interesting to see how far they'd need to go with that mechanic to not go bancrupt. The player would still spend only ressources, dollars and roubles and price tags and budget would still be shown in roubles and dollars to the player so that the game only has to make a graph and show how much the player's set exchange rate is to the rouble. They wouldn't even need to give the currency a name, it could just be 'local currency', or perhaps local currency as a defsult name with the player being able to rename it like they can do with cities.

You can’t do it until they are completely asphalt. It’s the only type of road you can do it to, and it has to be manually assigned after they complete.

Did you know you can flatten terrain even faster (works extremely fast even on rocky terrain, kinda ridiculous) using the Aircraft Runway instead of terraforming using buildings? Keep up the cool videos of my favorite game!

Good luck, I got caught in the loan spiral from the get go and it was made much worse by how much reconstruction and wear/tear costs are. Spending just as much to repair a coal ore processing plant than you paid for it while inflation eats away all the same

Charlie, why don't you specify who lives in what building? like only smart people are allowed to live in a particular building and then you designate smart people jobs to them. I think thfat would be easier to manage.

They do exist, in this new update. Stated from the beginning, this is the waste management update for the game, which is currently in public beta. If you are not on the beta branch, you do not have the new facilities, new buildings, new research, etc. There are no mods installed with this playlist

FYI Students of age 21 and edcuation level from at least 1.0, move automatically to a University hall(hostel building), if it's in walking distance from their current residence. If there is no University hall available, but the student is living in a regular residential building, the student may go to University or may go to work or may not do anything, they miss out on getting educated. i remebered you asked what the building is for, so it is a must otherwise when theyt graduate they may escape the republic

In the early game, like pre-1980, it’s pretty selective and rare to get profit from it. Usually better to buy the resources direct. Later on, especially with better types of vehicles, the cost:weight ratio improves in the used vehicle market, since vehicles have had more time to age then too.

BIg tip, you can use trees, and specially terrain like birms and landwalls to reduce the spread of polution

There’s zero evidence that trees in this game reduce pollution. Been tested on stream before

@@0926001 I’m not definitively saying it doesn’t, and indeed in a practical sense IRL, it should help. I’ve simply seen no evidence of it in my experience playing this game. - that said, I use them because it looks nice and I’ve kept people away from pollution anyways, so it won’t be an issue. If it does help in WRSR, I haven’t seen it
