I followed you. I appreciate the stream. I wouldn't have even known this was coming out. It's the kind of game I use to love back in the day. Its what makes pc gaming so unique. I obviously love city builders and all, but I remember an old game called Pizza Tycoon, that I absolutely loved.

It used to be that way. I feel without the ability to do that, it becomes something people will just have CS people do before business open (which you can do, and I will do for some businesses to show that)

Instead of buying things in small amounts and having to go back and forth, when you're at the furniture store, you can talk to the manager and just deliver a bunch of stuff.

The desk + computer combination counts as a single workstation. To have two work stations, you would need two combos of those things. :)

Great videos Charlie. Helped me get up and running without too many mistakes. Quick question - what does the (D2) for example mean next to the size of a building? @ 3:21

It's the building layout/design classification within the game. So basically, all D2's have the same layout. Sometimes you'll see retail buildings that are C1, and then C2, etc. It has to do with how large it is inside, and the variant of design for that size.

Personly, I think the cost of doing that wouldn't be worthwhile. It's far more efficient having everything in one store. Unless the demand is extremely high. Or near the end game, when we finally take over business, this could be worthwhile

yo why can't my drivers restock my shops in a single night? i sell 500 donuts daily and 3 other products in a same shop. but drivers restock only 1 of them in like 2 days

They will restock every day, if you set it that way. It has to be your settings for logistics, either on the purchase side (you don’t have enough product to take to the store) or your trucks aren’t sent to keep enough in stock

@@CharliePryor they sometimes restock 1 of my shops like once in a week. the other shops are always out of stock and not restocking. even if I have enough product in my warehouse. I have 2 uhc desert trucks and 2 drivers. i also set my logistic settings perfectly like they will fit in stocks in my shops.

You can see the minimum requirements on the steam page. I'm not a good source to ask, as my system is powerful. I suspect it's on the lighter side though. You can see my frame rates always displayed in the bottom center of the screen, and I have it set to max 120

Why did you not pay the taxes on day 60? i think they didnt charge you for the first year or you didnt show it to us.

I didn’t pay it for the first year. My only guess is that my expenses exceeded my profit on day 60, for example I perhaps had very little in my account on day 60, and didn’t owe anything. That’s the only explanation I have.

Another idea, as I just want back to video 8 (where time ticked through day 60) is that I still had a task for the HQ in Uncle Fred’s objective list. I was doing my own thing and not following his steps exactly back then, so it’s possible that because that quest objective was still active, perhaps the game didn’t consider me far enough along to tax me then. I have no idea though.

The restaurant would make more money if you sold the products above market price.

Tell me… what do you do when you look for something to buy, and see it in a store more expensive than it is someplace else? Do yo buy it? Sure, raising prices can make more per product, and perhaps it doesn’t apply in this game, but economically speaking, it will reduce demand, and you will sell less products overall. With good margins, I’d rather use volume to my advantage than be exposed to the risk of an inelastic demand. I think you’ll find that raising the price in the restaurant where I have lots of competition in the neighborhood will lead to lower sales. The gift shop gets way with it already, because I have little competition. Raise the price enough though, and they still won’t buy nearly as much. I’ll lose money overall with higher prices at some point.

@@CharliePryor You can raise prices when the customer service skill of the wage slaves working there is >80%, so going for HR and auto-train the workers on the job is a high priority. Came in quite handy when I decided to run an army of lawyers out of cheap cramped offices: base price is 225 bucks/hour/lawyer. I managed to ramp that up to over 300 without suffering the consequences of ripping off people.

@@CharliePryor Good old trial&error, plus gut feeling. I don't recommend going with lawyers first, tho, they're quite tricky to keep working. ;D On the HR: it's a good investment anyway, since aside from the auto-training ability (which does save boatloads of cash) these guys offer, they also hire temp-workers when one of your workers calls in sick.

I mostly ignored the uncle fred objectives,cause the tutorial is quite bad and sets u down expensive route with the takeaway. I set up a a giftshop with a 30 customer cap and on day 5 i had 5k profit already in hard mode. Then i opened a law firm in midtown charging 1100$/h with 10 desks. Then i was already at like 155k profit/day on day 15. You were taking way too long with the objectives. The sooner u get to imports the better and the sooner u get HR the better also. Leaving u open to build more businesses instead of having to spend all day only on shop stocking.
