Honestly No Flea is a lot more fun than I expected, thought It would ruin the experience early game but it only made it more engaging and fun to go on little treasure hunts in the maps. The lack of quest keys and overall lack of good barter trades is what's holding back some of the progression, like seriously who's finding the time to get 20 cigarettes for a single SASS M1A or 12 weapon parts and blue GP for a RPK that I'm probably gonna loose trying to do chumming.

its not fun for a whole wipe tho i bet. esspecially since this wipe they nerfed loot by 25%. that PLUS the FiR only hideout made the game such a grind that realistically only the real sweaty tryhards will make any decent progression and the casual players will be stuck with shit loot, shit gear and no quests completed. im level 45 and so many quests i could never of done without the flea and probably would never of even completed this whole wipe.

​@xseptit Yeah I think the whole issue is the game is totally designed around the flea atm. Removing it would be pretty sweet but everything would need rebalancing before they could do that. These quest lines and RNG keys is just not fun though. I'd rather play how I like and have the story be revealed in a better way. The story is so comprehensive but we don't get to see it as casuals. It's all just text boxes with silly requirements to see the next.

i truly believe the flea market should be like a local flea market, where you can buy Nic nacs and trinkets, (hideout items maybe barter and quest keys) maybe some backpacks. move ammo, guns and tac equip to a black market that has increase prices and commissions and unlocked later into a wipe (weather thats player level or timed unlocked for the whole community.)

The delayed flea was super helpful for me as a gear fear latent Tomathan. I understood, that at least during the early wipe, everyone was going to be in my position sourcing their ammo, armor, and weapons from in raid and traders. This gave me confidence that my opponents wouldn't be massive backpack men all the time and I was able to get out there and reach level 25 before the flea market. I thought it was super fun, however, I did not use my hideout once. Personally I am not a big crafter but do use the hideout as a marker for my progress through the wipe.

Personal take: -Put flea behind community event to unlock it, with risk of scav events shutting it down and needing more PMC tasks. I.e., not available early wipe and unreliable, with incentives for PMC/Scav warfare. - Rebalance loot early game to make things like Kedrs, Mosins, SKS's, and shotguns viable. Aside from commonality, things like stripper clips, speed loading and faster actuation on repeaters with high mastery would be nice. -Make all quest keys barter items at an appropriate trader level. -Remove FIR requirements from common hideout resources like wires and bulbs. Make uncommon and rare resources FIR for hideout, but barters count as FIR, as do items preserved in secure containers after death. -Rebalance barters and crafting to properly reflect changes and generally be more useful. -Overhaul Fence to make him a more viable trader and rival to the flea in some unique capacity.

FYI for anyone with a Nvidia 2000 series or newer GPU the new driver that came out lets you use the new transformer model for DLSS and it looks great. I have it enabled now and see none of the ghosting that was prevalent in the old version.

Can you expand upon that comment a little? I'm new to PC. I have a 4070, overall game runs fine and I'm limited by my VRAM. I've got my settings to a good place but a weird thing I have happening, especially in trees, is when I turn my camera it's like everything getting blurry. It feels like those old screensavers where the icon moves and has a trial of itself behind it. Is that what you mean by ghosting?

@@Glaedr11 Transformer model changes the algorithm of how the graphics are upscaled when you are using DLSS. In Tarkov when you would use it before the most recent update DLSS has some nasty artifacts that made using it pointless such as ghosting when moving and smearing in reticles. If you install the newest driver along with the Nvidia app you can force the newest Transformer model on in the Driver settings tab for Tarkov. To me it Tarkov looks better with DLSS on as it disables TAA which has its own issues with ghosting etc. Its pretty much a win win now using the updated DLSS. You get the benefit of better performance and it looks better overall.

@ Not true. I've already tested it out and I have gained performance. It depends on your system and depends on the map you are playing as well as how many AI spawn in. From what I've tested I've gained about 20% performance on average.

Sound but is still happening, got it this morning (Jan 31) on Shoreline after I unlocked a door and walked into the room while there was other sound events happening (gunshots, footsteps, glass breaking, my teamate eating a snack). Seems to happen when you have lots of sound at the same time and you transition into a new room.

For a person who has play from patch 0.4 i would love if the flea was not there but then bsg must make sure the loot ingame spawns as it should. The only way no flea and fir for Hideout will be enjoyable is if they let you add Hideout items as you get them instead of having to store them. So if you have 3 bolts you can put those in, even if you need 5 total. That'd make stash space so much more enjoyable than it was early this wipe.

I think no one having flea this wipe really helped prolong early wipe, which imo is my favorite part. It also stopped a lot of the RMT transactions and i didnt see any cheaters until flea opened. Just my experience. But they NEED to balance the game around not having flea if they go this route. Barter for quest keys and stuff like that.

@ and you can buy the stuff for barters. I want to find the stuff I need for barters in raid. Also I don‘t want to be able to buy meta attachments on the flea. I want to either find it or unlock it from traders. The only thing I would actually be ok with, is buying items for hideout crafting. And I rarely use the flea for selling items. Unless items are worth like 100K more than what traders pay, I rather sell them to traders. It‘s quicker and less annoying.

I stopped playing this wipe already so I didnt see the survey. I was fine with no flea for the first 2 weeks. My main gripe was everyone was running high tier loot super early because they didnt have anything else to spend money on (hideout upgrade items). The game is at it's finest when we are all poor and running questionable gear, like the first 2 weeks of wipe. They should do more surveys though, I think that is a great idea.

That's pretty much the only reason why i still loot every money item as a kid even after 3k hours, u know the fact that we have a tiny chance to get rich every container you open. I can't play since the beginning of this wipe because of optimisation so i didn't test this "NoFlea Wipe". My take on the flea is pretty simple: Flea should be off for quite a while, upwards to a month, but when it opens, it opens to everyone including any new level 1s. Trust me, they need it. Flea should not let you list ANYTHING that is traders level 3 or above. Simply put, either find that stuff in raid or craft it or level up. Flea should also be FIR stuff. No more reselling for profit, that is dumb. If you are doing that, the traders should get wise and block you off entirely for a while. Hideout should remain "FIR" only. Honestly, the first few weeks most PMCs weren't running around being murderous a-holes intent on ruining everyone's day for fun because they actually had stuff to do. Keeping players busy with tasks that aren't "kill 200 scavs while killa pleasures himself" type keep the game balanced. When players have stuff to do, they do stuff. That said, a few more crafts would be good, or perhaps an actual barter for a certain keys, and some of the higher end things. Make is super expensive, but make it possible. Always give the players an alternate route to get things done so they can in fact get things done. Some things require labs, but honestly the level of chadism and cheating make labs something a normal or casual player won't even consider. Getting 180k for a card is a much more certain outcome than running in there and getting mystery killed by a snake backpack. I learned this wipe that the game has a problem with players failing and giving up. Everyone has a point where they are no longer progressing and no longer feel like they are getting any positive results, and they give up and move to another game. Since flea came online and the gear levels got stupid, I have seen more and more people just giving up. Players under level 30 seem to be more and more rare in the game every day - and empty raids like you might see near the end of wipe are already coming more common. Reselling is a huge problem, people have automated the process and are literally snapping up any cheaper than average components and relisting them at higher prices. They are constantly looking for gaps between what they can get from the traders and what it sells on the flea for, and doing that. Example: non-FIR eve bulbs were about 5-6k on the flea. You could trade some with prapor for F-1 nads, and sell those for 12-15k. This is a very small one, because you are limited to 4 per reset. But that is an extra 25k or so per reset... and away you go. There are many other trades and direct purchase items from the traders where this is reality - buy level 3 stuff, sell it to level 1 and 2 players at a 100% markup. Some of the gunsmith tasks are now entirely polluted by these sorts of trades. It use to be harder when they could only list FIR items, but now they just buy them off the traders and post them directly. Not really good.

But after a week or 2 the giga chads with 5000+ hours already have max traders so I say we 0need to keep flea so theres something to bridge the gap. Max traders and all the quests take too long for most of the player base to have access to semi competitive gear.

No flea slows progression. Not that that's a bad thing, as a lot of streamers and no-lifers reach max traders in a month or two otherwise. Then what do you do for the rest of wipe? Complain that there's nothing to do and the player base drops off? I hate the FIR for hideout progression though. Keep it, but allow us to install the components as we find them, (instead of having to have all of them at once). That would also help manage the (lack) of inventory space. Barter for quest keys is a good idea (some early quest keys already are). Holiday event was all but impossible to do as a solo player (even otherwise solo playing streamers teamed up to complete them). Boost the loot tables on different maps on a rotational basis. For instance, one week the loots better on Streets, the next it's better on Interchange, etc. Make it an incentive for players to go to those maps for the better loot. Randomize the bosses to spawn in different parts of the maps, make it unpredictable where they could be. Just some thoughts.

Well i will be honest. I do like it when there is no flee in a first two weeks. I will explain why. Yes it dose affect players that play every day badly BUT. There are even more players that plays weekly or even less do no work. And two weeks dose allows them to feel more calm and not rushed at all. Its same as game called RUST on a force wipe. On force wipe you get more players then on any other wipe do to BP wipe and no advantage on others. All I'm saying. If i wud play pvp then i wud like to be at least a bit equal to others.

I keep losing fps drastically after spawn every raid. Steady drop down to 30-40 fps constantly. It levels off around 40-50 fps after that permanently. Same hardware Ive been using for tarkov for years. After the wipe the fps is ruined. Saw that was the case for many people. Just curious, did they mention anything about it?

The only bug they’ve ‘fixed’ this wipe in my experience is the spawning in with teams transiting bug and I still had multiple instances of this occurring early this wipe. I put 1k hr into this game each wipe and I’m starting to get annoyed with this dev team. I lost all audio on streets today too, so that’s def not fixed.

i would love a limited version of the flea market at the beginning of the wipe. keys ,barebones weapons and MAYBE low tier scopes like the acog, valday but NO variable zoom scopes ( tac tec, vuduu etc). NO suppressors on the flea, FIR only barters for good suppressors ( BIS for recoil or good ergo suppressors) and high tier items ( scopes etc). Please for the love of god BSG lower the stash upgrade costs so that standard account players can actually play the game. I don't mind the FIR hideout upgrades, but some reduction in the costs of upgrades would be nice if it stays like that. However a mix of fir and non fir would be best.

How is adding a system to the game that adds depth to the game systems bad? People voting to have flea from the get go are the ones that are causing players to flood to PVE. I think BSG has made many concessions to the players that damages the integrity of the game THEY want to make. We have the players and BSG stating they want the same thing, sounds like a win-win.

if no flea doesnt completely blocks my progress sure but as it was currently no it was definietly not good as i had to get lucky to progress trough quests and there a quest keys that 30 days later i still never saw in loot if they add barters for quest keys and attachments you can keep it closed idc anymore just give people a way to progress even if the flea is closed it makes no sense that your time invested isnt yielding the same results as someone who was just lucky got the keys attachments etc also stuff bartered from traders like toolsets and bulbs should come fir so you have an alternative way of getting your hideout items they can be 1/reset so you cant just buy everything in a few clicks but trader barter items are meaningless barters since the flea is a whole lot cheaper because you dont need those thing for anything anymore with the exeption of toolsets

Everything felt more important when the Flea was locked. Every kill and every item mattered. I also didn't meet any obv cheaters when the Flea was locked. When it opened I meet two obvious cheaters the same day.

I voted "I'm OK with the flea this way" but only because there was no remove the flea option. Honestly think the game could be cooler that way but at the same time would give more reasons for people to cheat. I'd rather be able to play the game than be overrun by cheaters but definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place on this issue. I feel like I know why that wasn't an option.

the flee kills the game imo, everyone running around with skuffed guns and bullets is far more interesting and fun, it certainly closes the gap between the sweats and casuals. Id like to see a progressive flee market, that unlocks for everyone over time, first gun attachments, then some bullets and hideout crafting stuff, then guns and armor, over the course of 4 weeks (after 2 weeks to a full month of no flee) and a complete re-work of item drops personally. Id also like to see the hideout shit go back to non found in raid because that just sucks imo.

Nobody is running around with skuffed guns and ammo, because you acquire gear off of traders, not the Flea. Good gear is banned on the Flea. Lack of Flea, and restricted Flea, both massively increase the gap between casuals and sweats, sweats are the ones who don't need the Flea and don't want the Flea, precisely because it increases said gap. It makes the gear matter even more than it does usually.

Tarkov is supposed to be this hard grinding realistic shooter. When you add things like Flea into the game so early it makes the no lives who only play tarkov just beyond over powered, hell i don't even think you should even be allowed to buy him powered ammo from the flea, but all in all half of the time i just stop because i start facing level 30-40s unless I'm grinding as often as they are so they just have better everything.

locking the flea for the first 2 weeks makes a more even playing field for casual players they can get to lvl 15 in that time and then every one gets it at the same time. unlike how no life players get it day one and just get to shit on 90% of the player base for the first week. the only way around this that I saw was guys that can grind to lvl 15 at day one can also grind to lvl 55 or at least lvl 42.. in 2 weeks (with arena that's still an issue IMO) so by week 1 they have or almost have max traders and don't really need flea anyway..

Literally the opposite. Casuals can't get their gear off of flea, sweats don't need to - they have max traders. I actually got 42 several days earlier than usual, I think it took me 11 days instead of the usual 14-18. Arena is terrible for EXP, the dailies are worth doing for Ref rep, but that's it, they've overnerfed it, it's just slower than leveling in Tarkov directly.

The poll result wasn't surprising at all to me personally. The gameplay loop of EFT is just too flawed with the flea market. It's the reason so many people love the early wipe and then stop playing after a few weeks. The game is just a money farmer as soon as you get the flea. You run the same kit every raid with your favourite meta build and kit. No weapon variety, no attachment variety....no variety in general...Think about how many guns, attachments and optics there are in EFT which quite literally never get used because when you have the flea you can literally just use the best stuff. With the flea removed, it means that every raid has purpose, you are actually looking for gear that you can USE. Killing players becomes more valuable as they will actually carry items which are useful, instead of just items which you can sell. There is so much more variety in the kits that people use. Staying in raid longer is more rewarding. The game actually has "progression" in terms of constantly unlocking useful things that you can get from traders, as opposed to again just buying everything from flea. A lot of streamers have a misconception that giving people access to all the best gear and making the game easier will somehow make the PVP more fun and rewarding and keep people playing longer into wipes. But all the evidence we have ever got from EFT shows the complete opposite. Anyway, nice video, leaving a like for covering the topic and promoting discussion, thx

No flee was fire actually, but found in raid items for hideout is just not fun, running aroud for items just to quit raid early to be sure you escape and make progress, one thing are rare items that if you die you get some value back, so you can get more agressive , run into gunfights but fir hideout makes you just quit the raid
