What I would do to have the genius of a David McCullough. He embodied wisdom. It's a shame Charlie Rose fell into disrepute. He lent his name to quality TV programming like this. Now we have practically nothing like it.

John Adams is my favorite mini series ever. After I finished it, I told people, "I dunno what to do with the rest of my life now"

It was the Brazilian Santos Dumont who for the first time managed to lift and sustain a flight with his own means of his 14 Bis device.

He sure did fly....in 1906. Unfortunately he was late to the party. The Wrights were flying at Huffman Prairie in 1904-1905 in front of hundreds of spectators.

@@sharonraizor2839Wrong, wrigths glided in 1903, 1904, 1905, they didn't fly! But gliding, it had been done before wrigths! In front of hundreds of spectators? Don't distort! You can prove this?😅

@@Marcos5pb I don't have to prove anything! History proves it! They took off with a powered engine from a level surface in 1903.

Leonardo conceptualized flying machines that he never made real.. in fact, the designs weren't air-worthy
