Charlo vs Rosario FULL FIGHT: September 26, 2020 | PBC on Showtime PPV

Jermell (34-1, 18 KOs) stole the show in the main event as he knocked out Jeison Rosario (20-2-1, 14 KOs) in stunning fashion just 21 seconds into the eighth round with a straight left jab to the body. Rosario struggled to get to his knees and appeared to have the wind knocked out of him as he was counted out by referee Harvey Dock.
"It's Lions Only forever," Jermell said. "We've been doing this for a long time. Dreams do come true. This is a part of my dream and a part of my destiny. I'm satisfied and I'm happy."
Jermell became boxing's ninth unified champion with his trainer Derrick James becoming the only current trainer with two unified titlists, including Jermell and Errol Spence Jr.
After seven completed round, Jermell held a narrow lead on all three judges' scorecards: 66-65 and 67-64 twice.
Jermell recorded two knockdowns before his knockout. In the closing seconds of the sixth round, Rosario from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, went down for the second time as Charlo connected on a short left hook that stunned Rosario, who was saved by the bell. Rosario was also sent to the canvas early as Jermell scored a knockdown on a left hook to the top of Rosario's head in the first minute of the fight. Rosario was taken to the hospital for observation following the fight.
"I knew that he was going to keep coming after the first knockdown," Jermell said. "He kept pressing for four or five rounds until I floored him again. I'm growing and learning that the knockout just comes. I know that I have explosive power in both hands. I utilized my jab more than any other punch in this fight and that's what got me these straps."

The jab to the stomach wasn’t spectacular; however, it was the perfect timing & placement. Most body KO’s look & sound devastating, but this one, it seemingly took all of the air or something. You are 100% correct. If you work it a have can hurt you bad. About the second year I was amateur boxing I started realizing my jab stung my opponents more than theirs stung me. So I made a conscious effort in trying to make my jab hurt like a power strike. Some days I worked only my left on the bag. I love this sport. I still train even though I stopped boxing and joined the military, then when I got out I work for the military. One late night In Miami many years ago I decided to walk to the corner store. A car pulled up and three big ripped dudes jumped out. I tried to talk out of it, I knew I wasn't going to outrun them, but they stopped to do what they intended to do. So when they came running at me I told myself I was going to die but I was going to make them earn it. I'm here today because of boxing. I beat them senseless it was a miracle I don't think I could ever be so perfect again. So I have trained every day, every moment I can spare for 20yrs now. I now train my son as well. I owe my life to boxing.

What happened to Rosario wasn't normal. Everyone was talking aboutthe jab possibly breaking his ribs and such, but that had nothing to do with it. He was having a problem in his brain from the round before. The jab to his head and the jab to his stomach did nothing, he was on the verge of some serious trauma in his head. You don't fall from a jab to the midsection and immediately fall into convulsions like that. He was experiencing sharp pains in his head while down, nothing happened the last round to cause that. I wouldn't let him fight again until he underwent serious testing and a layoff of at least 6 to 9 months rest.
