I will confess, I only heard thsi song recently for the first time because it was on a Christmas album. Its a great song though. I have to admit though, I wouldn't have thought it was a boy singing with Charlotte.

Billy started singing career at a young age but I heard somewhere when his voice changed singing was more difficult. I would image Billy would be in his 30's. Great young voice.

She ruined her voice by just pushing it too hard when she was young. Maybe a lack of professional guidance, or cynical record company getting as much out of her as they can. In the professional world of opera singers they really only let sopranos loose when they are in their 20's, and they do this for a reason. Charlotte was going full blast in her early teens. Just asking for trouble.
