Since THE cause of death for women until the 1950s was giving birth to her 6th baby, putting out 15 and living was indeed a big deal. Side history: it wasn't until the results of the experiments conducted by the Nazis and Imperial Japanese were taught in Western Medical Schools for a decade or so that pregnancy stopped being a coin toss on living or dying. You have presented your husband with 5 daughters and now the 6th baby is bigger and stuck. A statement is made to your husband, "I can't save both of them". What that meant was, does the person delivering the baby put a piece of firewood in the birth canal, against the baby's head and give it a whack with a hammer to crush the baby's skull so it can come out, OR a board is placed on the mother's pelvis and is hit with a sledgehammer, shattering your pelvis! The baby will fall right out but you are going to bleed to death internally in absolute agony over the next 2 or 3 days! If this is the 6th baby and it is likely male (bigger), momma, you are gonna die.

Anna Johnson I have no idea why ppl think she was 'hidden'..lol she was a Queen of England..we know our Royals..the interest has only arisen because she was 'black'...she may have had black ancestors (from about 500 years before she was born) but she was not black skinned, most ppl have mixed heritage if we go back 500 years in our families, the controversy seems to be she was 'hidden' because she was black skinned..which she clearly was not..neither was she 'hidden'..lol

Not sure about all the dislikes but I absolutely loved this being a Charlotte NC Native for years I never heard about any of this on top of the fact within the last 6 years I researched her for myself after years of much pondering what kind of woman she was, etc and it wasn't until last year I found out she was black which I thought was awesome as well and lastly I loved the fact that you have a lot of pictures of her because from what I gathered in my research a few painters in her day purposely painted her family portraits or self portraits as her being white

@Sandra Kaye Notice how prince Harry and Meghan based their wedding and engagement dates on her birth and deaths dates! She was born in May 19, hence their wedding date. Died in November 17, hence their engagement date. This didn't surprise me one bit when I first heard of it. The Queen and her children all have heaviness around the mouth that gives them full lips and a beautiful profile, esp. the Queen.

Well, not by anyone except those in denial. For out of Africa they reject. The cradle of life, of civilization. Even more shocking, all people had dark skin up til fairly recent. Most are unaware there is a white gene. If only racists knew, or, acknowledged the truth. This world might be a better place.

It is known that artist were able to and expected to make the portrait as pleasing as possible so they could take liberties with certain features or flaws. Hence why in some paintings she is lighter and features more fine. Apparently Harry and Meghan know more especially if it was in movie. Also Mozart wow she knew talent and at recent wedding they had the Sheku the cello player was black. Wow!

Thank you for this wonderful biography! I read of this Queen's ancestry, and your video confirmed much more. Also, the parallel between the current Prince of Wales and Charlotte's son proves there is nothing new under the sun. Both endured disastrous marriages after being forced to marry women they did not love. I hope Diana's tragic death put an end to these royal arrangements. How sad the comment section is filled with nattering nabobs who don't appear to have watched the full video! The African lineage of Queen Charlotte can hardly be denied. Her pictures, hair, mouth, the poem, and historic descriptions...all point to a reality that should not incite such vitriol! It is what it is. Thanks again for a well done presentation!

I think she means the queen was was not 'physically' black skinned, she may have had a black ancestor from many generations back in her family but she herslf was not 'black' if you go back to the times of Ferdinand and Issabell many kings and queens were from Spain/Portugal were much darker skinned and 'swathy' than Charlotte..our Royal familys have always inter mixed as it was the way countries formed treaties between themselves,no one is deniying her heritage..its documented in history..just that she was not 'black' in the physical way.

@clare marshal Wow! How amazing that you have learnt this about your ancestry. I hope it will enrich your racial experience and not shock you into self hate

@Ann Mitchell How amazing to explain that the mixing of Royals was to enable forming treaties between themselves! Someone mentioned that RACE was never an issue in Royals circles in ancient times when it came to marriage. What mattered most was religion. I suspect this is the reason many Africans in their 80s and 90s had no problems with Queen Victoria as their Queen and actually seemed to love her!
