Ok ,so I wore a cream colored dress to my daughter's wedding for two reasons. 1. She picked out the dress for me.❤ 2. When she picked the date for her wedding. I celebrated and didn't tell her ,but that date was actually our ( her parents) 30th wedding anniversary. She secretly set up a cake for us including our champagne glasses from our wedding. She surprised us after their wedding was wrapping up. ❤ She's so sweet.

Ok I gotta comment just a little: my beautiful niece just got married. She thrifted her dress. She gave her parents lovely sentimental gifts. It wasn't a huge huge event (80+) people but she had at every place setting a lovely note handwritten to each guest thanking them for coming. It was the most beautiful, fun, happy wedding, it was true love, and she looked stunning in a $40 dress. So take that, mean brides 🥰

Love this. THAT is what a wedding should be, joyful and happy. It’s not about having a huge, expensive wedding, it’s about marrying your best friend. My entire wedding including my gorgeous A-line gown was about $1000. (My gown was $106 and STUNNING.) There was such love from our vows that people were crying with joy. Even the pastor teared up and it was the best day of our lives. We have been married 6 years come December and I am more in love than ever. We have God in the middle of our marriage and I would marry my husband a 1000 times over.❤😇🙏❤️

At my wedding, we had a hired photographer. Had an uncle on my husband's side show up with a "professional" camera, and get snippy with our HIRED professional. Apparently, MIL asked him to take pictures, because she assumed we wouldn't have hired one. He proceeded to get in the way constantly, and had to be asked several times to move aside for our photographer. We never saw any of the pictures he took. Also, his wedding gift was a picture of one of our professionally done engagement photos, which he printed out onto a piece of slate. It stretched sideways and made us look 4x bigger than we already were. He still gifted it.

Speaking from a different point of view ... I went to a friend's wedding and took my Nikon camera. They did have a professional photographer, who announced that he and his partner were paid to take photos anyone else wishing to take photos please do not block their shots and do not use flash cameras while they are filming. Totally understandable. I stood off to the side which provided a different angle. Afterwards I printed my photos, created a memory card of all the photos I took (Even the blurry ones.. never know who is in the photos) made a photo album of the ones I thought were best and gifted my friend (groom). He thanked me as these were the first photos they've seen so far of their wedding except ones on people's Facebook pages. Months later he told me they still hadn't gotten their professional photos yet. That when people ask to see the wedding photos they pull out the album I gifted them.

As for the Wedding photographer… I had the opposite thing happen. We went to my nieces destination wedding. I tried to get as many photos as I could. My daughters threw a fit, so I cut back. The next day I sent all the photos to the bride. She called me up and said thank you and she wished I would have taken more, because they couldn’t afford the photographer that was part the resort package… learned my lesson…. Always ask if they need more photos taken

I breed golden retrievers and had a lady (that I know) ask me to bring my litter of 7 week old puppies to keep the kids busy. It was a huge hit and I sold all 13 puppies at the wedding, minus the puppy I kept. Not one kid acted up, they all stayed in the puppy pin. We had my oldest looking over the kids to make sure they had “gentle hands” but we didn’t have an issue, definitely recommend

That is cute but also slightly horrifying. Imagine bringing your kids to a wedding and them falling in love with the cute puppies. Then you either have major family drama for a while or you end up with a puppy you never planned on getting before. Dunno if I think that that is a good idea. You don't want to encourage people to get a dog without a lot of thought and planning. 'My kids fell in love with the cute puppy and I couldn't say no' is exactly how shelter dogs are created.

yeah, i think i remember hearing to an update (can't remember where though, might've been a different video here), and how "the rat" got found bc they came forward (which, y'know, perfectly fine) and that *everyone else* attended the polygraph party, and i just have to call *BS*. for sure plenty of people told them off (esp the bridezilla) for how ridiculous the whole thing was from the bottom up and the polygraph being the cherry on top and they just claimed everyone except for the snitch went to the thing just bc they're now coping

In the dark ages when I got married (1974) the photographer required no other cameras. Although most people didn’t carry cameras and certainly no cellphones. My in-laws had a friend who was a very talented amateur photographer. They refused to ask him to leave cameras at home 😢 Turned out he was a classy guy and knew better.

These are the kinds of little things that only add to the memories. On my wedding when everyone was hoping for nothing to go wrong I said I kind of wanted some little things to go wrong so we’d have some good stories, just not at anyone’s expense. And it was the unplanned things that we tell stories about today! We had another bride crash our wedding (no one knew her, she was from the other side of the venue and we had an open bar she wanted to take advantage of), we found out the night before the wedding was at 3 and not 2 like we put on the invites and it stormed all day (but I love storms). But it was a perfect day. Wouldn’t change anything.

It could work if you had PICTURES of puppies that are available for adoption as part of a table centrepiece or alternative to table numbers. Depending on the size of the reception you could invite an animal charity to bring their ambassador animals (for example, in a side area for kids where it’s quieter.)

But I don't know if that's something professionals do.

Oh I’m sorry you had that happen! My husband had THE BEST groomsmen at ours. They came to the bridal suite with shots for me and my bridesmaids before the ceremony in case I was nervous about everything being perfect. I’m not a huge drinker but it was sweet of them to think of how I might be feeling, and we all had a shot for fun.

A lot of wedding photographers outsource their editing. I'm a wedding photographer, and during busy season, I outsource some of my editing. I'm in several photographers groups on Facebook, and lots of them outsource, and there's also lots of editors in the groups.

I outsourced that kind of editing. I'm a photographer, not a graphic artist. I'm not skilled at extensive editing. Just because we outsource doesn't make us stupid, lazy, or unskilled. It's a different skill set all together.

If anyone is getting married make the ceremony phone free. Ask all phones be turned off or at least silenced. Anyone seen using a cellphone will be asked to leave! At the reception i highly recommend getting disposable cameras and seeing all the nonsense you get. There is still something fun about having to wait to get the developed pictures and then going thru them
