Technically she has had them before (like in "Feats Of Clay") but Leo states that Phoebe is now able to easily pick up on non-supernatural events, which is why she kept seeing Miles die in various ways. So her Premonition power has advanced slightly as of this episode.

I dont think there was any plot hole regarding the time traveling here. Bakara's plan was based on going back in time after Cole's help to teach his past self how to steal the book and kill the charmed ones. This happened because Phoebe kept saving Miles, but in a timeline where Miles is dead, Cole and Bakara will never need to cross pathes and he will remain this looser demon who cant even catch a low level witch and he would never become a serious threat to them. I love these two episodes' especially A Witch in Time. Season 5 has many highlights like this one imo. Cant wait for the next time and the upcoming familiar face you'll react to!

Once I came to the conclusion that Cole is basically an addict addicted to Phoebe, everything is easier to understand. It's like Phoebe awakened his human side in S3 and feelings initiated by Phoebe are his high. Love (not good) is the biggest, as it's the greatest contrast to his evil. He's proven multiple times that being good isn't worth his "nature" without Phoebe and he only ever chooses good to get/keep her. Good is his currency and our human "flaw" is that we giving him the benefit of the doubt that it's genuine, because, like Phoebe, we want it to be true. Even when Cole was human, with no consistent thrill from evil to create the contrast he associates to feeling alive, he found it hard to be content just being, and that's when he had the absolute most of Phoebe's love. S5 is like a withdrawal with too much power for his own good. If anything, Sympathy for the Demon is out of character because he genuinely worries about hurting humans after killing them with little concern prior. Phoebe is his drug.... and it's sucks to think about it, but it does makes you wonder how much he loves her for her vs. how she impacts the battle that was always living inside him. The fan approach to Cole is very much the viewer's version of no one realizing he had the source in him because they're in denial that the entire journey could've been doomed from the start... but that's what makes us so nice lol

I think the going back in time plot hole can be confusing with Piper going back in time, like if she goes back in time to fix this, how would she go back in time if she stopped Phoebe from saving Miles. It’ll definitely confuse you but I think future Piper disappearing kind of fills the plot hole. She sacrificed herself knowing that she’ll save her sisters and give past Piper another chance to be with her sisters and live on with them. Also the plot hole would’ve definitely not have been filled if future Piper also stuck around but her disappearing showed that plot line changed as soon as future Piper basically “died”, disappeared from the timeline because it’s not hers.

Part of it i think is because the higher execs want to push how we can dress the ladies in the sexiest outfits as well as maybe the feuds from the actresses. I don't think Phoebe just threw Miles away she just realized that she was clinging to him for the wrong reasons and that she can't always save the innocent. Something Prue had to learn season 3. This is the 2nd sister, as of right now, to interfere with Death and almost die because of it, even tho technically a version of her did. Also remember by Piper going back in time, Phoebe only tried to save him the one time and he died in the shootout like he was supposed to so she wasn't as emotionally invested as we previously saw her.

I mean Paige conquered her fear by orbing the potion from thr ground, something she's never done and finally doing that random ass spell Prue created 😂 Each sister had something to overcome. I don't think the scene with Lil Piper is showing exactly when Victor left, just that he left when Piper was little. Same with Phoebe. I don't think she ever got over losing a sister, it's still her fear cause she broke down realizing she killed Paige, but her biggest fear is that she's actually evil and having killed Paige solidified her fear. Victor essentially said that he got into it with Grams about how the girls should use their abilties, he didn't want them to and Grams did and this is why he left. Its never stated that he left during the Ice Cream scene this information was just given during that episode so I think Serigo is just blending them together.

Cole episode! He’s losing it. The paranoia in full force. Barbas returns! The intro song hype! 🎵🙌🏼 Animal conjuring. Aww Paige feeling insecure. Piper is feeling herself in the 2nd trimester. Cole coming to the sisters for help. Desperate demons call for desperate measures. Phoebe refusing to help him. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Piper 😂 Barbas playing the long game with the sisters. Cole attacking Paige! Stripping Cole’s powers! Not him being freed & blasting Cole with his own powers. At risk of becoming the new source? The dun dun dun dun piano score coming out of nowhere 😂 His revenge is stronger than his need for power. Cole backing up Paige. Phoebe trying to lure Barbas. Him trapping the sisters! 🤯 The fears are closing in on them. Piper’s vision of the past. I knew that wasn’t Leo. Not Phoebe beating up Paige. Barbas messing with Piper 😭 Phoebe stabbing Paige! Yes Piper breaking through her fears! Barbas’ henchmen so over him not focusing on becoming the source. Yes Paige orbing the spilled potion 🙌🏼 Cole’s got his evil mojo back. And I’m happy about that? 🤔 Cole vanquishing him. Phoebe on her 4th date. Paige finally able to conjure the doves. I hope she starts to not feel like she has to compare her progress to Prue. They’re both amazing in their own ways. I always love when they bring Barbas back. He’s so magnetic on screen & always brings the sass. Top tier villain for the show for me. Noticing some continuity issues here & there but not enough to keep me from watching 😂 Piper is having none of Phoebe’s new guy. And Paige on the couch! “What is this a brothel?” 💀 Phoebe’s vision of her man’s death while making out 😳 LOVE Goo Goo Dolls! 💚 Awkward breakfast. Piper quoting Phoebe’s advice back to her. Leo forcing Piper to go with Phoebe to protect Miles. The freezing of the crime scene. Another vision of his death? A demon warlock from the future? He’s supposed to die. Cole destined to rule the underworld. Sounds perfectly fine. Nothing could go wrong with that. Paige always knows what’s up. Family dinner. I could totally see y’all in the Halliwell home 💕 That dinner scene was chaotic. Future warlock powers stronger than theirs? 😳 Gosh these premonition deaths keep getting worse. The demon recruiting his past self! Potion to cloak themselves in goodness to steal the Book of Shadows. The balcony save. Him wanting to push her away to keep her safe. Them stealing the Book of Shadows! 🤯 Cole offering to protect Miles. Not that demon literally ripping her heart out. Leo pep talk! Coming up with new spells to fight them was a great idea. Not them turning Paige & Phoebe to ash! 🤯 Leo saving Piper 💚 Leo wanting to rewrite & set time back to normal. Piper talking to her past self 😂 That sucks he had to go 💔 The comforting sisterly conversations are always my favorite. I liked the concept of trying to fight fate, even when it’s ultimately not able to be changed. The villain was really good in this. Hope we see him again “in the future” - no pun intended 😂 Watching the girls get vanquished was crazy! Still keeping Cole’s future leader of the underworld in the back of my mind. I do agree with you guys that I’m seeing different aspects & traits of Prue’s character in each of the girls. Piper adjusting to being the oldest, her powers strengthening, Paige’s assuredness when she trusts her instincts, etc. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Spectacular reactions as always guys! 🖤

Cody & Siergio, Barbas aka Billy Drago has appeared in 3 episodes at this point. Barbas was not mentioned or apart of episode 3x10 | "We All Scream for Ice Cream In episode 1x13 | "From Fear to Eternity" due to Prue no longer being afraid of Barbas, after the spirit of Patty conquer her fear he was banished. In episode 2x09 | "Ms. Hellfire" after a short battle and it turning midnight Barbas ran out of time, sending him to Purgatory once more. As you saw in episode 5x07 | "Sympathy for the Demon" Barbas was vanquished with a energy ball from Cole.

I really don’t like the black and white vision of good vs evil in the show from season 5 onwards. Leo saying that Cole was able to say something Nice about Paige only because he didn’t have his powers and was automatically good was so childish for no reason. I mean the season is fun but it’s not near the depth of the other two shows you’re covering (Buffy & Angel) but i’m okay with it. The treatment of Cole is not only bad for him but for Phoebe’s character as well. He should have stayed gone in season 4. Also, continuity is not Charmed’s strong suit, you’ll see in the later seasons...

2 great episodes! Cole is acting insane and super paranoid. BARBAS is back!! I do love to hate that demon. Phoebe attacking Paige while thinking she's Barbas was a "holy shit" moment the first time I watched this episode. Time-travel is pretty cool. Poor Phoebe. She has no luck with guys. 💔 Piper pinching her past self was great. 😂👌

5x8 is also a weird one for me, I don't know why the future demon felt so free to mess with his past self so much considering how vital his past is to his future. I just don't see how the low potential of reward was worth it. (But I guess that's why he's an impulsive demon lol) On theories this is one of the episodes I like to think about when things are referred to in passing in future seasons like all time travel episodes.

I replied to a person below but I even want to write it separately here because it's so obvious. Someone was talking about black and white vision of bad vs good in different series and mentioned Buffy. C'mon. You have JW right in front of your face there who did everything with the plot to make people think like that, have this black and white vision. The similarities in how they treated Cole and Spike characters. Initially bad guys who came to kill characters but people liked them and they fell in love with good girls and tried to prove that they can be good because of their love. And who were driven by their feelings all the time. But the plot said that no, if they are demons (Charmed) or withourt a soul (Buffy) they can't be good. Only their ending is different because Julian was filming another project. But even how some react in comments here saying that "people feel strongly for Cole because he is good looking but they forgot about what he did in the past, he is a demon". The ones who don't like him even have the same arguments. Everything is right in front of you.

barbas is probably one of my favourite demons, too. he seems so queer coded while also being cruel and flawed and i love it. also, this show isn't great continuity-wise so you don't need to worry too much about connecting plot points.

Sympathy for the Demon has always been one of my favorites, even tho Ive never been a fan of how dismissive Piper and Phoebe are of Paige's intentions. Like of course I understand they've been through alot and have maybe more knowledge, but Paige was always able to see things from a new and different POV. Was just never a fan of the whole 2 v 1 thing. Edit: now watching it again, yeah Barbus influenced em too a bit, but my point still stands xD

5x7 is the worst Barbas episode imo because it makes no sense the Charmed Ones wouldn't try to stop Cole from hurting innocents knowing that aside from his misguided killing of the guy who blackmailed Phoebe. Paige's beat down was odd too considering her whole orbing powers. Also finally, Barbas could've killed them so easily when they were trapped in their fears. With the source's power he probably could've taken their souls to the underworld to continue the torture. I know it would've killed the show but that's why he shouldn't have been given this opportunity. The writing was just a bit weak and the perpetual weird Phoebe energy is still going strong but the actor for Barbas is on point as always.
