Some fun tidbits about this episode: • Alyssa/Phoebe didn't know how to swim and was afraid of being in the water. She didn't know that this was in the script until the night before filming started. • (Scrapped Charmed Writers Idea) When paige goes to the apartment to get Cole, the writters originally wanted Paige and Cole to start a love affair(Between Paige & Cole) in that seen. Luckily, the network said no to that idea. 😂

Honestly, I think they should have gone that route. They honeslty did not know what to do with the Cole character and the treatment of his character was horrible at times. This season marked the first time when I saw the sisters make many mistakes, and they refused to take accountability for any of it

You guys brought up the little mermaid, it’s funny because Alyssa was the muse for Ariel! 2. Charmed was going to have a spinoff show but the show was going to be based on mermaids, Brad Kern filmed an hour long pilot but it never got picked up so the spin off was scrapped

I love these episodes, The Little Mermaid is a fav of mine so seeing this was so fun! Love that we have an obligatory witch shapechange and the reveal of magical baby on board was brilliant! (clears throat and rearranges Cole stan flag) As much as I loved this, the writers/powers that be messed up Cole's arc in such a weird and purposeful way. The fam all know his history with being manipulated by evil and full on controlled by the source but Cole is kinda potrayed as an ab us ive ex stalking Phoebe when all he wants is to take advantage of the control he finally has of his life and to try to get back to his relationship with Phoebe like it was before all the evil machinations ensued. I'd still appreciate a story where Phoebe leaves Cole (because understandably there was A LOT of trauma) but it's not fair to treat him as if he actually was the bad guy when he was a glorified puppet for majority of his episodes.

Piper and Leo are getting ready for their baby. While helping an innocent(who's a mermaid), Phoebe becomes a mermaid herself. Paige takes a chance, and asks Cole for help to break Phoebe's mermaid spell. And Piper casts a spell to help her overcome her fear of leaving her baby. Phoebe doesnt know that. Cole is attached to the worst part of herself. The darkest parts. He wanted her to use dark magic to bring him back. Its not her job to protect him anymore. Phoebe deserved to move on. She tried her hardest to make it work and it didn't. She shouldn't be faulted for wanting to create something new and move on from her past. If Cole truly wanted help he could've asked any other witch.

Im going to be honest, Charmed seasons 1-4 were my favorite. The seasons after are extremely hard to watch, the showrunners just wanted to put the ladies into sexy outfits on a weekly basis, Piper and especially Phoebe start to become a bit more unbearable each season and it seems like they don't know what to do with Paige. Having said that, I still believe that Charmed as well as Buffy were extremely important shows that have been ever made

Kinda hate how everyone’s pretending Phoebe didn’t choose to be evil. She vanquished the last wizard with the sources powers yes but she chose to do that. Not to mention the only reason Cole became the source was to save the sisters by choosing to take in the hallow. Cole didn’t choose to be the source he fought it the entire way as it took over, so much so that he was about to pass the power to the wizard. Phoebe really lost all quality for me when they decided to take her character on the path they did in season 4

Nope, the seer manipulated phoebe into vanquishing the wizard, Cole chose to be the source when he decided to stay the source & get coronated after realizing Phoebe had turned evil and that she wouldnt leave him. The scene before the coronation was them BOTH making a choice, so stop acting like Cole is innocent. Season 5 reveals Cole's true colors and no matter how much you try to blame Phoebe for everything, the truth is cole was never really good, he was only ever "good" when he was with Phoebe or trying to win over Phoebe.

Phoebe is actually aggravating me with her teeter-totter feelings about Cole 😂 the source did all that craziness, not Cole. I don’t understand why she takes it out on him as if he had any control. At this point, girl just bring him back and have your happily ever after 😂 the one time he had a semblance of control, he tried to give the source to someone else but Phoebe vanquished the wizard before Cole could even come back, then got Cole/source next 🤦🏿‍♀️ like… huh!? Blaming Phoebe for the writers is krazy. Phoebe going back to Cole or even opening the door to help him is alot. Everyone is soooo concerned for Cole and no one is concerned for Phoebe. She lost a lot too and wants to find her normal again and everyone calls her selfish for it. Was Prue selfish when Andy died and she wanted to stop being Charmed? No she wasn't cause she was in pain trying to piece herself and her life back together same as Phoebe. Cause Cole died and what came back was a demon with Cole's memories. He was never the same.

And unfortunately this is the start of the decline in this show. The rest of the seasons after this are unbearable and phoebe is the main reason as to why this show starts to become insufferable. It basically becomes the phoebe show as she gets the absolute most screen time. She becomes selfish and bratty and it seems like the rest of the characters are just there to help her. Piper and paige are treated like side characters and leo is only there so piper can scream at him. The show only becomes a comedy after Season 4 instead of drama/action. It’s a shame that the writers felt like they needed to take this route in order for the show to get good ratings.

Just making up stuff. The show didn't become just about Phoebe. It actually focused on each sister more than the first 3 seasons ever did. Paige stepped and found her place amongst her sisters, Piper started her family and grew as the eldest and Phoebe was building her life back and her career. Unjustly hating Phoebe is just getting really weird at this point. The entire series is about Piper and Leo but I'm sure you have no problem with this 😂
