The last time that I was in Portugal was back in 1991 - 32 years ago with a friend and the reason we ended up there was due to a timeshare rep (yes!..timeshare - remember that scam!) rep pulling us both of of Oxford St, in London to attend a presentation and 'win' a holiday. Been to most of the towns including this one, but always stayed in Lagos. When I recently viewed Largos on Google Earth, I couldn't believe how much it had changed. Even some of the squares gone, and the new train station. All good memories!.

Had a great night at the Porta Da Vila bar a few years ago and the owner is a great guy. He said it took him about 16 years to collect all the shells from local beaches, that he used for the bar and his house which is around the corner from the bar. Drinks in the bar are also top notch!

I would say the best time, would be before the summer or after the summer. Here in the Algarve- their season is from around April/may to September/October, after that it’s pretty much a ghost town, not many places will be open.
