Looks like a beautiful place to spend some time in the winter. And the walks along the coast look gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

We have no regrets after our month in Albufeira. It was of course colder going in winter, but we had a lot of perks as well with the holidays, and also just getting to see the city without a few hundred thousand other tourists competing for sidewalk space. Thanks for watching! 😃

We've been to Lagos, Porto and Lisbon squeezed into a 2-week holiday. Albufeira is being considered for a month in 2025. What's the weather like in March?
@tendegreeswarmer10 ай бұрын
I can't speak to March, we were there in December and early January. But I can only imagine March is even warmer, and it would still be off-season so I'd expect the crowds to still be low. My guess is March would be lovely!

Fellas, when you say winter, you mean December to April. I know it’s a dumb question, but as I always say, no question is dumb, if I knew answer I wouldn’t have to ask, lol. We are going in end March and April. Can’t wait.

Yes, we are talking about the winter in Portugal, which is roughly December to April in the Northern Hemisphere. But March and April should be warmer and I would assume a bit more lively than January! I hope you have a great time!!

As I write this we’re in Albufeira. This is a good overview but I’d be a tad more cautious using the word “affordable” so often. From a first-world perspective, maybe, but travel expenses, decent accommodation and healthy food expenses are still beyond the reach of most North Americans.
@tendegreeswarmer9 ай бұрын
I appreciate your response. As Americans we definitely enjoy a financial privilege that I am very grateful for. At the same time, living in the United States is also increasingly costly, and we spend less money traveling the world than we did living back in the US. "Affordable" is a relative term to be sure, but we hate it even more when we hear people describing places as "cheap".

@@tendegreeswarmer Right, given the fuzzy metrics of affordability, finding the right turn of phrase isn’t easy. Portugal is a fine country, I do hope it doesn’t collapse under the weight of its own success attracting tourists.

@@UncleWally3 It is a very fine line for destinations who want to attract tourism without selling their soul. I hope Portugal figures it out too, it is such a beautiful place with friendly people.
