This is the first time in 40 years that I've gotten to know and interact with my neighbors--I've recently retired and actually have time to see them on the street and get to know them--mostly because of working in my garden. We are ALL single women who support each other whenever it's needed.

Being someone with high anxiety (esp social anxiety) I have not interacted much with my neighbors. Well!!! Having been living in my house for 10+ yrs and started having started gardening in 2020 (a combination of finding Linda, pandemic and realizing it was a good therapy for my anxiety and depression) I am finally meeting my neighbors as they stop on street to talk about my plants and my garden

Me too. Plus, being bipolar 2, it has made it that much more difficult- but I force myself to interact as it is good for me. We live in a sub-division that isn't condusive to meeting our neighbors, just by how the homes are designed & situated on their lots. However, in "forcing" myself to interact & not hide out in my home, I have enriched my life & hopefully others' too.❤❤❤

I used to watch a lot of House Hunters, and got so irritated when people walked into gorgeous houses and nitpicked about ridiculous things, including decor (does anyone think they are going to walk into a house that is exactly the way they want it??). It is so refreshing to hear you and Sydney talk about embracing the imperfections of your lovely older homes. I love Sydney's style and have soaked up all of your videos with her. Thanks so much to all of you for sharing with us.

As being a Japanese expats family, we've moved from country to country. Both Taiwan and Singapore for 4yrs, and now GA 🇺🇸 . Over those years we’ve learned and experienced in order to call our house a home, we need to feel we belong in the community. Otherwise we feel homesick and lonely. We’re here in GA about 10 months now, but I’ve made lots of neighbors who I can call friends already thanks to my new hobby gardening. It gives me so much opportunity to be outside and try to get to know my wonderful neighbors. We have dinners together to exchange my Japanese food to southern food, our neighbors’ kids help me weed and harvest some crops, and they admire and encourage me to continue building a garden. My husband and I, and our 10 yrs old son already feel we belong in this community and I can’t thank enough. We still have over 3 yrs to spend our life here, but thought of leaving here already aches our heart. Gardening has been helping me in so many different ways. And thank you Linda for showing your great tips. Not only I learn how to gardening but I learn English from you too! Your “big words” fascinates me! And enjoy Singapore in July! Their botanic garden and Hortpark were my favorite places to stroll.

I think Sidney's metal filing cabinet with the vertical drawers that have been turned horizontally came from a courthouse. They are still used many places to hold "shucks;" which are criminal case files. They take up less room than regular size file drawers & the shucks can be easily transported to & from the courtroom. Great repurposing. I really enjoyed the tour. Thank you.

My husband is an electrical engineer who can do it all. Electrical (naturally), auto repair, tile work, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, roofing, masonry, siding et al and……he does it well. In our 40 years of marriage, we have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in repairs and home improvement projects. He is also the smartest man I know. He handles all of financial matters (no financial advisors here) and does that very well. It’s just as easy to love a handy man as it is to love a dandy man 👍🏻❤️

Greetings, Linda. We love historic homes, so much charm and character. "Open concept" homes give an illusion of space, but if you compare square footage of living space, many of them are smaller and do not have the ceiling height-- their "cathedral ceiling" are wasted space and just empty voids. Yes, we interact with our neighbors and it all started decades ago when we teamed up to save our historic area from developers and we created a historic preservation zone for our neighborhood. Now we all know each other. Historic areas keep their residents. No short-timers here.

My home was also built in 1932, we have curves to the top of some ceilings. Here in the UK, a 1930s house isn’t deemed to be historically all that special. No preservation orders. You need to have a house dating earlier than the 1800s for that to be true. Thanks to yourself, Stuart and Sydney for touring this amazing and inspiring home. I love it almost as much as yours, Linda ❤️

I so enjoyed the Christmas tour and I was thrilled when I saw another chance to "peek" into her beautiful home! Just LOVE her style! Linda, you and Stewart are just knocking it out of the park! I am sitting here in Kentucky, with temps. running anywhere from 70 degrees down to 25! Typical rollercoaster March here!! With that said, it is so fun to be able to hop on and take a lovely house tour! I MUST mention, that once again I noticed the albums sitting out...HANK WILLIAMS AND WILLIE NELSON. And after your Christmas tour, I was tickled to get a message from Sydney that her husband was a big fan of Sturgill Simpson, ( our son is his drummer and sings backup vocals)! We are, as you would expect, very proud of both! And, just a little "heads up" for Sydney and her husband...coming soon, is our Son's first ALBUM...more details to come, but VERY EXCITING!
