Mimi is clearly in heat in these videos which were probably filmed 3 or 4 months ago. As far as I am aware, and unlike Kiki, she has never presented with cardiac issues. Coco was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy before he died. It is a hereditary heart disease, but was not seen in Kiki, although she did present with some visible respiratory and cardiac issues as a young kitten. The available tests performed by the vet at the time were inconclusive, and the problem seemed to subside, as she grew, and gained strength. Kiki had her first litter at 14 months, but her second pregnancy, that produced Nico, occurred only 4 months later. Breeding guidelines advise a minimum of 6 months between litters. We saw her distance herself from Nico when he was weaned, and she seemed to pull away from others, except Charo. It seems likely that her sudden death occurred in March, soon after a vet clinic visit (which her owner hinted at the time, was for a pregnancy check). Was she pregnant again? Did her first two almost back to back pregnancies place a strain on her 22 month old body, that may have lead to an acute cardiac event, and sudden death early in a third pregnancy? Was an underlying undiagnosed, chronic health issue, a contributing factor? This is all conjecture of course, but what we do know, is that It does not directly affect Mimi's health status.

I do think that I'm one of few here: that thinking that Charo did hit a point - I mean she is clearly in heat, the hormons in her body going wilder and wilder. This you could see as Nico still was there (in the last videos with him): She did her tail and butt in a certain position give for Nico, that wasn't misunderstoodly a sign for copulation act. She needs a partner soon or she needs to be fixed - but I doubt that the owner would go with the second step/option.

According to an international document titled, WELFARE IN PET TRADE, Responsible Cat Breeding Guidelines : 'ideally breeding should be delayed until cats reach 18 months of age, and they should not be mated before 12 months of age.' Latte has big feathery fluffs between her toes! Mimi is a bit grouchy today, until her own little orange baby comes over to her at the end of the video. Then she is sweet to Pucca, reaches out to her and does not push her away. Pucca is her last baby now that Toppo has gone to his new home.
