Charters Towers is one of my favourite little towns in Australia. So I went exploring on my big, silly motorbike!

Absolutely. This bit, North Queensland is absolutely the equivalent of Alabama or Mississippi. The South East is more like Florida- Alabama with notions.

Great views - really should use my drone more! Ah the fuel economy of the meanstreak, and oh the irony when you run out of fuel knowing that there is still half a gallon at the bottom of the tank you cant use - in many ways they are an odd beast but I love em 😀

I got 250ks out of the tank once in the middle of the NT thanks to a fuel stop being shut! But I don’t care. It’s a marvellous, ridiculous bike!

Seeing that CB125E reminded me back in the 80's and 90''s, small capacity motorcycles (normally under 100cc) used to seen everywhere in Queensland towns as you only needed a car licence for them. Is that still the case?

Not so anymore. The laws here are similar to the rest of Australia now. You can only ride a 50cc moped on a car licence.

Loving having you show us around North Queensland, but I worry about you going off the black stuff on such a heavy bike. I recently dropped nearly 90 kg bike weight by buying a Tiger 850, and it has opened up so much more back road country here in Northern NSW.

I have already dropped it. In a bloody petrol station! I hadn’t any trouble righting it again.

@@PaddyOutback I used to have a VFR 1200X which weighed in around 300kg with luggage. Once when coming out of a motel I had to stop. One wheel was on the uphill camber of the road and the back wheel was on the down slope into the gutter. Put my foot down and there was no ground where I thought it should be. Bike fell over on me and busted my collar bone. Found I was alergic to pain!

It’s mental. There’s been some serious falls this year alright. Townsville, where I live, has the same average annual rainfall as County Clare, where I’m from. Problem is that in Townsville, it tends to fall all at once and then a state of emergency is declared.

Michael, your style of comment is that of someone who has enjoyed sniffing his own farts for too long. If you’re wondering how I come about that specific description, it’s because I too had an over critical father figure in my life that I hoped would have a sudden convulsion that would lead him to accidentally swing a hammer onto his own thumb every now and then… it was mostly because his reaction to this type of non-threatening pain was absolutely hilarious and never resulted in any actual injury, just silly antics and overreactions that included a thumb in mouth while jumping around like a lost bunny… oh yes, your comment now makes me smile over that imagery once long forgotten. But seriously, I’m enjoying the man’s videos just fine so if you’re such a great KZbinr, why am I subscribed to Paddy but never heard of you?
