I’ve missed weekly writing vlogs so so much! Fanfic is a gift from the universe like they are writing stories of our favorite characters for free, as a hobby, AND ITS FULL LENGTH and DOING SCHOOL AND MULTIPLE PROJECTS AT ONCE AND HOLY SHIT FANFIC IS A GIFT honestly the tagging system would work so well for traditionally published books and mood readers

if anyone else didn’t notice at first, btw she has a tweet in the description instructing how to create the graphs AND if you have the new version of scrivener that works slightly differently than hers, here’s how you do it: Click on your doc or folder of docs, click the outline view (her tweet has an image to show what that looks like but there are three views at the top center of the screen you can choose, outline is to the right of the cork board view) Hover over “view” in the top left corner, scroll down to outliner columns, and select word count, target, and progress. Then you should be able to click on the target section for each of your chapters/docs and set a word goal, and it’ll automatically count the words you have in that doc and fill in the progress bar the right amount

I would really, really love editing/draft polishing vlogs, too, because I find that to be the bulk and the hardest part of the process and I would love to know how you edit and polish all of the wonderful first drafts you have created so far! I'm a chaotic organized writer. I can not start a story until I have the characters and major plot points figured out. That being said I decided to take the advice of a friend and 'shut up and write' which brought me to starting an AU for one of my series. Actually made progress on it and because it's not the official story it doesn't have to be 100%. Using this to get into a writing flow and bring back the inspiration, so far it has worked, also so far I have done nothing with said inspiration.

Hey, Kat. I’m happy to see you get to writing with a writing vlog. I’m having some difficulty writing currently. As a Creative Writing college student, I have to take a Fiction Writing workshop class. My teacher wants us to write literary fiction. My problem is that I feel like my writing is not good enough for the agenda of the class. The stories I have written are far from the ones I want and like to write. If you have any advice, please share with me. Otherwise, I do hope to read your book! It sounds fun!

First of all, I love your writing vlogs and I am so glad to see they have returned!! Congrats on starting a new book and good luck with it! Secondly, you write so fast! OH MY GOSH ;D Like, i can do the usual Nanowrimo speed, but only for a month or two; I can't draft an entire book in ten days. But I am a part-time pantser so maybe that's part of the reason I am much slower, I need more time to figure out what I am writing WHILE I am writing, But everyone has their own speed and process and it's so fun and inspiring to see yours! Thanks for sharing ♥ And yes, please ramble more about story-structure, it's my favourite thing ;) besides stats of course, so the return of your charts made my weekend. Now I am going to edit my own book with all this extra-motivation!
