Dude this is perfect. You actually helped me pick a Charvel SoCal over a Dimas! Now with this video I'm deciding with the 5150 over a dimas. Do you happen to have a video of a Mexican Charvel vs one of these 5150s?

I don’t think I do tbh the 5150 has a slimmer neck than the mim Charvel’s ,the un floating trem is a big difference as the top mount EVH Floyd is higher set so it’s not quite as low profile it doesn’t bother me either way Build quality they are the same I’d say

Super great video Neil, but I can't make a decision.... Floating floyd I guess is funnier than dive only... ? Who needs a d-tuna ? Killswith is insane ! The Charvel is maybe more versatile ?

i love floating bridges. But to this day i still not know an easy and correct way to tune those things. Mostly when i got i got it, but when it's off it is really off.

Hi the EVH was set up for me ,you do have to take the nut off every now and to keep up to the tuning as the fine tuner becomes redundant but works great

I can only afford one of these. And I am completely torn on which one to buy. I am pulling my hair out. The charvel pro is more versatile, with the split coil and the humbucker combo sounds great. The evh has the D-tuna and killswitch, that could be adictive. That stealth black looks absolutely mean 😅

@@NinecoreNeil I've got a Charvel DK24 HSS. I'm actually playing it this very second. I love it! Such I higher end guitar than everything else around it, IMO. Not to say everyone else aren't pulling in quality efforts...it's just this model hits it out of the park. Edit: it's just alder, I think. I actually kinda regret not shelling out the extra couple hunji for the ash version. I prefer this finish (satin, shell pink), but the tonewoods matter. I'm a Gibson guy, so I'm all about the mahogany tonewoods.
