They do say this is 4 years ago and her voice has changed and also that they've been watching her voice grow and improve over time (as it does with experience and continued training). I don't think there's an issue.

The musical theatre vibe you get from her here is because she actually had a musical theatre background. You should check out her performances in Stages Sessions. She performed She Used to be Mine, Home and slayed Defying Gravity and two more songs. That's a 100% live and she ate those performances.

Since you mention, how age can effect ones singing voice... and this is 4 or 5 years ago. She does have a very excellent lower register...B#2 in fact. Her diction in English has always been clear and defined and this is noticeable in most covers that she does. You can hear her sing the same song as well as the Bodyguard Medley.....in concert with David Foster....2 weeks ago.

OK, I don't understand the hate that Chase and Melia are getting. There is such a thing as constructive criticism, it can't all be praises for Morissette. Just because they aren't calling it "perfection" doesn't mean it's a negative, they ARE coaches after all and as such know what they're talking about. Sometimes we forget that people ARE ALLOWED to have opinions. If you do not like what they have to say, then don't troll.

If I remember it correctly, when she sang this song 4 years ago, she reeaally sounded tired here. She actually performed back to back to back that year. A lot of us (her fans) were worried that she might be worned out. The moment I heard her wishbus version, I knew she was tired. This was the only “Never Enough” of morissette that she obviously sounded dead tired. If you just watched the highest version, i think youre opinions would have been different. But still love all your reactions and opinions to her wishbus performancs. It just shows that Mori is still “human” who has good and “bad” moments. Hi there, as another long-time fan of hers who followed her closely back then, I honestly don't remember that dialogue occurring for this particular performance. And I'm not saying that because I think she's perfect and people need to like everything she's ever done - I don't think that at all, and no one is above constructive criticism, including her. I just legitimately do not remember that type of discourse occurring for Never Enough. What I *do* remember, though, is some people being concerned about her ability to sustain her vocal health if she consistently sang ANOTHER song, Naririnig Mo Ba, in the same style as she performed it during this same three-song appearance on the Wish Bus. In particular, there were a couple of vocal coaches who, while impressed with the performance, pointed this out. And then, unfortunately, she did experience some vocal health issues later that year. I get what Chase and Malia are saying about her placement in this video. They're not the only vocal coaches I've seen comment about preferring a more forward placement, and I prefer the same thing. My measly two cents is that there were two things going on: 1) for whatever reason, she deliberately did choose a less forward placement for this Wish Bus appearance, not just for Never Enough but also the other two songs she performed; and 2) she did bring her placement farther forward overall starting around late 2019/early 2020. Chase and Malia, if you're reading this, thank you for the reaction, and always good to hear from you! Just last month, Morissette was personally invited by David Foster to perform as a special guest in his David Foster and Friends concert series in Manila. She performed Never Enough and a medley from The Bodyguard over a span of several nights. David was wowed and said he predicts she is going to be "a huge star all over the world." He also started following her (and vice versa) on Instagram after the series wrapped, which is cool because he doesn't automatically do that for everyone he works with. Hopefully this means they will continue working together. I hope you check out some of her performances with David. She was great throughout the series, but the performances I'd recommend are as follows: Never Enough (day 2) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKKqmImHea9sgsk The Bodyguard medley (day 2) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZjaYWiGbtuYh8k I Will Always Love You snippet from The Bodyguard medley (day 6 - I love this video because you get a really nice broad view of the stage, and the fan who recorded it is far enough from the stage that the acoustics are well-balanced. Some of the other videos are zoomed in so tightly on her that you can't even tell she's performing with David and his band and the acoustics are also a bit out or balance.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2eTgZ5-mrx9jMk

morisette tried to be consistent with the original so the intro was in lower register but not operatic like a baritone as chase did a bit exagerrated which is a lot different from morisette's approach . i'm baffled by melias observation about the onset that should have been with forward resonance otherwise thats not typical of you like you sound like some one else's voice . i maybe mistaken though but does forward resonance mean chest voice mix with nasal twang or the natural forward voice like singing a national anthem if morisette did that shed sound like a school girl singing a lullabye song that would sound monotonous . the original version was a bit dark and mellow she cant deviate from that . props to both of you tho when you break down salient points on how aspiring singers should make full use of their vocal instruments . putting all these aside i think chase clean cut aura might project a more commanding persona if only he'd stop shaving for a few months and let some whiskers make their statement .

It is always interesting to hear "technical" feedback on youtube from individuals who pick apart performances for the purpose of discussion or education which is a great service to their viewers. What I like to do is to then listen to their personal performance and or contributions to listen if they "practice what they preach." In this case, I encourage those who watch your channel to listen to your worship music found on your site. I'm curious if they'll find your performances "consistent" with the technical advice you provide in your commentary. For the sake of musicality and performance, after listening to your videos, I'm not convinced that the technical/constructive feedback your provide to others is fully applied to your personal performances. There seems to be a disconnect both in technique and overall musicality. To be honest, it was difficult to listen to the entire song without wanting to go to the next. I'm curious to know if others feel the same. Perhaps it's mainly to do with your vocal timbre that does not mix well. These are songs of conviction and testament. I think you can do a better job. Singing more with your hearts and not your head may be a good start. Best wishes. I hope to see new videos that display such.

Morissette ✨❤️✨ She’s more concerned about emoting rather than efficiency. You should really check out her musical theatre stile singing.✨✨✨

You cut the song too soon Chase…the song it not yet finished…by d way, that’s how Morissette sings, using the sound based on what the song’s message is…that’s why sometimes she sound like behind the throat or more forward….she’s so versatile, that’s why she can sing anything..,,can you react to her Broadway covers of Defying Gravity and She Used to be Mine…I want to hear your opinion.
