This is one of the best interviews that I've seen with Chase Elliott. I have always admired his personality and work ethic, and that he is his own man...and charts his own course...and it unapologetic about it. I also love how sensitive Dale was during the interview. Obviously, they are friends and have known each other for ever, but the questions were brought forth in such a way...that Chase was able to tell his story, his way...and we were able to peak behind the curtain...to a part of his life that we do not usually see (which is fine, I don't need to know everything about his personal life, but it was good to experience his thought process and professional demeanor). Thanks. This was SO wonderful.

The one thing that you have to admire as someone who worked in nascar for 15 years but never for Hendrick. Rick always seems to do the right thing when it comes to his guys when they have issues like drivers getting hurt outside the car, giving people opportunities, sponsoring young drivers to give them a chance. He doesnt pay the most in the garage but theres not many people that have a single bad thing to say about him thst worked there.

I pull for Chase because I pulled for his dad, just like Richard's fans pulled for Kyle, Bobby's fans pulled for Davey, & Dale's fans pulled for Jr. For the most part, I've been rewarded. 18 wins & a title at the age of 28. Bill won his first Cup race at 28. I'm tired of people constantly saying he has no personality. Not every driver can be a John Force, or a DW, or a Clint Bowyer, or a Tim Richmond. Bill said it best years ago: "We're doers. Not talkers." He's a race car driver who just wants to be a race car driver. Nothing wrong with that.

I would caution Jr about his skiing, as he has started skiing late in life. It is many times more difficult to have success learning such a sport/skill in one's 40s. Especially when your spouse has been skiing since childhood. It can be rewarding, but it can also put a strain on the couple. Great post, Jr! You are phenomenal in all respects. Thanks!

I've been a NASCAR fan since 2005. I've never heard fans complain about a drivers personality as much as they do with Chase. Can he get boring? Yes. Do I want him to change? No. I don't think the majority of NASCAR fans need a driver to give a cheesy interview, an awkward soundbite, or goofy celebrations when they win. Some people like that but that's the minority of the fanbase. Also, yes he has a famous last name but he had to also work his way up the racing ladder. Rick Hendrick saw Chase's talent at a young age and recognized he could he special. He won the Xfinity Series Championship in 2014 at 18 years old which led to him getting promoted to Gordon's seat when Jeff retired. A lot of people forget how hot he arrived in NASCAR and think he got to Cup off of a name.

He's not boring, chase is being himself..if that makes him boring to people then that's their problem not his
