Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Their comeback is coming up, it's on July 10th!

Since they debuted almost 8 years ago they have grown so much as artists and I can't wait for you to experience that growth. Yes, you are correct, Chase Me is their debut song! The member you really like in the hallway was Jiu. She's Dreamcatcher's leader and oldest member. The voice you really liked in the second chorus was Yoohyeon. She's a lead vocalist and often shares the chorus with Siyeon, the main vocalist. Many InSomnia(fandom name) consider Yoohyeon to be the second main vocalist, especially with how much she's grown over the years. Truly Dreamcatcher isn't short on talent and their dedication to continuing their studies really shines through all their work! Their b-sides though cover tons of other genres like R&B, EDM, Funk, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, Rock, and much more. I HIGHLY recommend checking out their full discography at some point as their b-sides are as good if not better than their title tracks. I apologize in advance for the info dump. Deja Vu - This is a standalone track and was done as a collaboration with the mobile game Kings Raid. Dystopia Trilogy - This series discusses the issues of cyberbullying, hate speech, and the dystopian nature of social media. Scream Boca (Mouth in Spanish) Odd Eye BEcause - Dreamcatcher's spin on a summer track. This MV is heavily influenced by the Horror movie Us by Jordan Peele. Apocalypse Trilogy - This series discusses the destructive nature of humanity though pollution and war. Maison (French for Home) Vision Bonvoyage Versus Duology - The meanings behind the series are still vague as the final piece isn't out yet. The first part was a critique on the current state of the industry and how everything is manufactured to be "perfect" OOTD Justice - This is the song coming out on July 10th. Other stand alone tracks R.o.S.E. Blue - Came out around the same time as Scream. This is a collaboration with the mobile game. Girl, Cafe, Gun. Endless Night - Japanese title track. Came out after Scream. Eclipse - This came out right after Odd Eye Fan Songs Full Moon - After You & I Over the Sky - After What Reason - After Vision 5 of the 7 members were also another group before Dreamcatcher, called Minx. Minx was a complete 180 from what Dreamcatcher is as they were a more typical sounding bubblegum pop girl group. They only had a debut and one comeback before disbanding. Minx's failure was a combination of an over saturated market, them being from a smaller company, and some pretty bad missteps by their management company. Thankfully, the company realized this and instead of cancelling the girls' contracts decided to bet everything on them and re-debut them as Dreamcatcher. They added two new members, Gahyeon & Handong and Dreamcatcher was born.
