Chase Report week 40 2020: Siku countertop display with blister cards, catalogs and a Greenlight

I was lucky enough to be able to acquire an original Siku countertop display with 24 pegs on it. It can hold approximately 72 blister cards.
Siku are not 1/64 scale diecast cars but 1/55 scale.
This video is aimed at and made for the adult collector.

The French gunship looks very nice. The thing in the front is a machine-gun. Siku also made a big version of it with shooting rockets.

I have a number of Siku models in my collection that I ordered from eBay. Some of them were super rare like the Opel Omega and the Mercedes-Benz ambulance. They’re really great looking.

I agree, despite their large scale they really appeal to me, it's quality diecast for sure.

An amazing buy! That Siku Truck2 does look like a Dodge Ram. The largest engine available was a V-10 a detuned Viper motor. You should ask Diecast Dude about the jets, I'm sure he'll know what that Delta wing Jet is.

These bring me to my my childhood, although i didn’t had any of these, i had a silver land cruiser, yellow bmw 5 series, Porsche Cayenne and caravan, ESA rocket transporter and more, a v10 Dodge Ram did exist, the SRT10, funny thing about smart in France, on the vehicles registration, the colors indicated, is the color of the structure cell, and not the panel, so the ones you’ve showed would be considered as silver instead of red 🙂

Interesting intel on Smart, although it does make sense. The body panels could be switched out with other colors, so the only color that was certain was the color of the structure cell 😉

Had a result today found all the good P case cars including the gold cyclone, blue 57 chevy, blue prelude, brown gladiator, aston martin and more, cant believe I got them all in one toy store.

I like those Siku. I’m surprised the shop owner let you walk out with the spinner display . I would think those would be good to a merchant..

Since the cars on it were at least 10 years old it's clear he hadn't ordered any new Siku for a while so he had no use for it anymore.

Love that Greenlight knuckle-buster (Jeep) vehicle. When you go out to the stores to look for stuff, do you occasionally bring a list with you so that you don't accidentally pick up the same vehicle as you may have already within your collection? Or do you create a list of your overall diecast holdings?

I have lists per diecast brand that I often carry with me in the car, but I try to go by memory.

I am siku fan snd i think siku was better in 2000s then now it was more detailed and much better looking

By the way, do all current (2020) SIKU vehicles come with rubber tires and metal bodies? I really dislike it when there is essentially a stump for the steering wheel. By the way, I think they call the canister on the cement truck a "revolving drum". If you click this link and go down the right side of the wiki page, it will show a picture of the inside of the drum, and how the cement is expelled out of the drum. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concrete_mixer

The more premium Siku (Grey corner card) definitely have rubber tires. Some of the cheaper series do too. There is a new ambulance that has a metal cabin but plastic patient compartment, like Matchbox used to do about 10 years ago. While that Matchbox now has a complete plastic body, the Siku one is still partially metal. So Siku is following in the footsteps of MBX, but with some delay. Thanks for the info on the cement mixer, I'll try to remember it.
