A minor issue that bothers me a ton about this game is that you cannot view gear XP from the equip screen anymore. This was already a feature in Splatoon 2, so I don't understand why it was ever removed.

That last one is absolutely an issue. You should be able to block players who’ve committed offenses, such as having an offensive username or griefing.

My issue is having no way to track your progress towards almost every badge, you wont know how close you are to them until you get them lol. It's such a common thing in games too why does splatoon not have it

God I hated how you can’t rearrange abilities and how the blocklist just doesn’t work. No, I don’t care if it makes it longer to getting into a match, we block people for a reason. Another thing I despise is the limited options to post to begin with. I rarely use Twitter or Facebook, so it’s just annoying that we’re restricted to those just to post a dang advice post. The “Favorites” category in the weapon and gear selection doesn’t make sense because it’s more like “last used” than favorites.

Mr. Grizz is the main problem of the whole game since his helicopter doesn't have machinery weapons to help us in Xtra Wave or Big Run >:000 Getting specific titles are honestly super hard to obtain in the game, I agree with that whole reason response. Splatoon 3 is a year old after all and still updates are coming for newer titles maybe. Leveling up is honestly super weird like Catalog Freshness and regular Freshness. Overall, all these answers are very well done and understandable. Great job on the new video!

One of mine is that you can’t get Top 5% in Challenges without winning 5-7 games in a row(yeah, I know it means best players only get that, obviously, but it’s still discouraging since there’s no way to catch up if you get unlucky)

I’ve heard one other creator mention the issue with weapon user titles. I think the solution would be to make weapon star freshness go up to 6 stars then have star 1 give you a Sheldon license, have stars 2 & 3 give stickers have star 4 give the weapon user title then have stars 5 & 6 give badges. I think this’ll handle the weapon user title issue.

My solution was keep it 5 stars. 4 stars gives you the "[insert weapon] User" title and 4 star badge, and 5 star will give you the 5 star badge and a new "[insert weapon] Master" title. I think that would be really cool

going to drop a few of mine 1: out of all things to lock between the masculine and feminine models, why are the eyebrows the only thing that can't be universal, like why can't i have a feminine inkling but with the thick eyebrows of the masculine one and vice versa 2: the amount of clipping into your player model some clothes have in this game is inexcusable especially compared to splat 2 3: i wish this game really tracked progress towards things like special badges, boss salmon splats

These are so relatable. I need someone from Nintendo to explain to me what they think levels do. I try to always use the report feature for bad actors, but my assumption is that to prevent people from being bad sports and reporting people who beat them, I’m guessing a user has to be reported by multiple players before anything happens. I do miss the league leaderboard. Like if someone beats me, I’m curious if that pair ended up finishing just ahead or me or maybe they were the best pair the entire rotation. More data is always nice!

One obscure issue I have with this game is that you can’t see how much progress you have on your gear’s ability chunks in the equip menu. You have to instead press x and then go to your gear there. It wasn’t a problem in 2 and it’s such a weird thing to remove. One other thing that was also not in 3 but in the past games is that you couldn’t join private battles while it is in progress. Thankfully you can now in the newest update, but it was such a weird thing that was just… not there for nearly a year.

I actually think what they'll do for super sea snails after the final splatfest is just go back to the very first fest and rerun them in order again. I have a feeling this might happen just due to there being no brand collab splatfests (besides from Nintendo's own propertys) so all they would need to do for the final update is add all the assets from previous splatfests and that's it.

I can relate to #1. I'm a big aerospray fan, and I only just got the "aerospray user" title like a week ago. I've also seen people with 5 Star badges but not the title, which makes me sad

For the shell out machine issue I would recommend using the Leanny Gear Seed Checker. You can record your shell out pulls and it will calculate what you’ll get and in how ever many pulls. It uhhh won’t actually be able to change them tho so if your 1000+ pulls away from the golden banner not too much you can do there.

What bugs me is how they removed the recon feature from the lobby screen. Yeah they added the recon attendant so you can recon every map and mode, but... why the HECK did they remove it from the lobby screen? Sometimes I want to quickly recon the current map to refresh specific jumps or sniping spots or whatever, and now it's actually LESS convenient for me to do that because I have to exit the lobby and then WALK to the attendant because you can't get to the recon mode from the menu. Like, there's literally no reason they had to remove that feature, redundant things like that are GOOD actually, Nintendo. Ugh, it annoys me more than it probably should but they make a lot of decisions like that.

I hate #3 too because it sucks how we can not see how many people played or how far you were from the first place or even top 100. I sense the game is hiding information regarding players participation. What I dislike the most about the RNG stuff is that it's not even true RNG, your rolls are determined and there's nothing you can do to change it, beside starting a new save or an update shuffling stuff around. For the title I want I still need to roll 722 times :(

My thoughts on each point: 1: I have The Final Gelatin as my title which I am perfectly happy with so I’m currently happy with how they are seeing as I don’t care as much because I got lucky, but I still want to be able to easily get more and you have some great suggestions 2: I completely agree with this, especially since you can’t see other people’s levels when in queue for a game anymore leaving them as a basically redundant feature in the game so why not allow the xp tickets to help weapon freshness and catalog levels. I 100% agree 3: This doesn’t really bother me 4: I slightly understand this because I have some ugly looking gear setups but I personally don’t want this in the game as much as others might 5: I have never needed or felt the need to block someone but blocking not doing anything is stupid and needs to be fixed immediately

I thought I was the only one who was annoyed by the gear abilities being disorganised, I wanted to spread my abilities per all my gears so they cost less chunks but have them in the same slots so it's still aesthetically pleasing to an extent but I can't do that and I don't have enough chunks to just scrub it and make the gear abilities organised so I'm just stuck with it looking ugly and it keeps bothering me

its kinda weird that you can't buy titles, banners or even table turf cards at the general shop. I mean imagine the convince of buying that one banner or title that you like or maybe trying to tinker you deck with better catds from a table turf pack. But no, we are all at the mercy or rngesus. Also a trade/gift option for splashtags items, cards and tickets will be a great way to help other players. Especially the ticket option to give away your EXP tickets to newcomers you are trying to level up to get those Sheldon licenses.

It's been brought up a fair number of times, but still sorely miss activated indicators on most condition-based abilities. Only Respawn Punisher and Haunt still do this, and its silly that other abilities no longer do this.

The thing I’ll always appreciate about the shell out machine is they could have easily made it a micro transaction ordeal. The same with the catalog. Props on Nintendo for implementing predatory features with none of the predatory shit lmao. Edit: The Xp tickets help with catalog XP I believe, as well as gear Xp. Also, you can earn a badge for using drink tickets. Those xp tickets are pretty Much used for that badge along with chunk farming for non specific chunks.

Splatoon series as a whole really has a bad currency design for super sea snail economy after it stops recieving updates and splatfests, getting worse and worse with each game In Splatoon 1, you would a get 1 super sea snail for every 30 wins (not im a streak, just simply get 30 wins). Thankfully this is circumvented a bit with Spyke actually letting players add gear slots or reroll slots for 30k cash if you dont have any super sea snails on you, and you have to be level 20 or above. You can even order gear with cash Other wise if you want to reroll a certain piece of gear, youd have to win 30 matches. In Splatoon 2 you would get a super sea snail every level up after level 30. Theoritically you can get an unlimited amount of super sea snails If the players resets its rank. But its not bad to assume most hardcore players will finish their splatoon 2 level grind at 99*. You can reset again if youd like, but realistically i dont see anyone resseting after that. The game doesnt let you use cash at all to replace the Super sea snails functions sadly And then there is Splatoon 3.....Yea you cant earn Super Sea Snails apart from Splatfests. The game would need an update or something resolving this issue. I even find this incredibly important. The faster than can implement some sort of alternate way to earn super sea snails, the better for the game's ecosystem. Splatfests arnt going to be around forever. Once they are gone, litterally there would be no way to earn Snails

I'd say one of mine is sub distribution Somehow the shooter trios and their counterparts all have the best subs, meanwhile fun new weapons got sprinklers*2, brella, the onrs who deserve those subs more got subs that are borderline useless for them (camp dont have mobility, and ink mines+ spinkler) Another problem of mine is mobility, the only weapon class that are best at avoiding subs/ shooting torpedos/flanking are shooters/dualies, that are best at spamming them, Many tines I just carried my whole team with a S blast triple, just to die to random bomb and then my team just falls apart, and their team just won because of bomb spamming Final issue is I think we should be able to choose teammates, such as I dont want to queue into another sniper when playing 4k, and another painting support when Im playing a paint sup weapon Honourable mention thats probablg not obsecure: other weapons get rewarded by outplaying the opponent, trizooka got rewarded by missing, and general shooters also get rewarded by trapping enemy in ink, so they could miss 10+ shots without being punished for it

I've had so many problems with splatoon 3 to the point I uninstalled it. I was stuck in B for the longest and kept facing S rank players. If I wanna level up, I only wanna face B and A rank players. It's not fun anymore. Also you're right about the title problem. As soon as I 5 starred my areospray, I got "Slosher user" WTH?!

I actually checked this out. Your level up, you get a Sheldon License. The only other way to unlock Sheldon Licenses is from 1-starring a weapon, so it's nice to have another way to collect farm them to buy weapons ............ but with how often I play pvp, I hardly have to worry about that. I checked while writing this and I have 65 licensees.

My thoughts on your points: 1. Yes, we need an easier way to get the titles we want without going through the Shellout Machine 2. My guess is that Nintendo is waiting to add this after all Splatfests are over, but the snails would be a good incentive to level up 3. Makes sense. 4. That is a good idea 5. Okay, that issue should be brought up more. Something as simple as the block list and the report feature should work.

The RNG gods are cruel. The 'princess' title was added in the first season and is, as far as I know, not a cycling or retired one, meaning it's still in the pool... And I STILL DON'T HAVE IT. My current title of Royal Magician is pretty awesome, so I'm not actually upset, just a little disappointed.

splatoon 3 has a lot of obscure issues that honestly have no reason to be there in the first place. like you said, weapon titles should be unlocked by freshness level but that's only the surface of random stuff that makes no sense from game design perspective. like, why can't we activate more than one food/drink ticket at the time? why did they make it so that in salmon run, the game punishes you with less rewards (or worse rewards in general) if you play more, which means the game is pretty much telling you to stop playing SR for the rotation BUT at the same time encourages you to keep playing well beyond the bad rewards in order to get more badges. (you should get more rewards the higher your rank is/the more you play! not less!! who thought this was a good idea????) and why are other players that you have no control over able to manipulate how many times you get a king spawn simply by leaving the lobby? i once went 2 hours with a full meter without a single spawn because people with a high meter kept leaving my lobby and being replaced by people with low meters. these kind of decisions unnecessarily slow the game progress down for no reason. it's downright bad or clashing game design. while we're at it, why don't you get more money if you win at higher rank / X rank battles? it would make players more motivated to get better at the game if you give them better rewards. in my opinion, it would benefit the game greatly because of how horrendously bad the balance of currency (in general. not even only money. chunks too for example.) is in this game. sorry for the long comment. but even this comment is just barely scratching the surface.

basically: this game is purposefully designed in way that requires you to grind hours every day just to get any progress in the game. with no better rewards for higher play, and problems like the ticket issue that unnecessarily slows the game down, casual players will see no reason to get better at the game and once they get over the feeling of "wow playing this game for the first time is fun" they will quit the game entirely because they noticed how long of a grind everything is. the splatoon devs know this and threw as many fear of missing out events and daily bonuses in the game as they possibly could just so that players would come back to the game. that's the state of splatoon 3s game design philosophy...... in my opinion. if you're still not convinced, here is every daily bonus and fear of missing out event: Daily: shellout pull, catalogue level bonus, sheldrone. (and salmon runs reward system... kind of.) Fomo: the week before splatfest (conch shell grind, free gacha rolls!), splatfest itself, big run, challenges, the catalogue itself (to some degree), the last week of a season catalogue level push (last chance to finish the catalogue for casual players, pretty much nonexistent for regular players.) ...that's a lot of things to miss out on if you don't play the game regularly. needless to say, this is a problem for a full price game. ...remember how before the game released there was this tweet that showed that splatoon 3 had "in app purchases" listed in the eshop? maybe there were some mobile game like things supposed to be in the game? i think it's unlikely but you can't help to think about it when looking at how this game is designed. SORRY for the long comment AGAIN, im stopping now. showing my interest for game design is getting embarrassing.

To know how bad thr RNG is: (1) i waited 2 seasons to get a black locker skin (that's checking EVERY DAY) (2) To this day, i havent gotten my Toni Kensa banner and i spent 3 mil on the machine, got the badge yesterday.

It was like that in Splatoon 1. In splatoon 2 you could always get snails for leveling up, you just had to be past level 30

All levels do in this game is show you how addicted you are. I’m at Level 116 lol. I only ever got to 78 in Splatoon 2

Title were such a missed opportunity to give the player a reward for doing something cool. For example, I have gotten 30 k/a in a game before. It would've been cool if after doing that the was like "oh, look at all the murder you commited, here have the 'Deity of Destruction' title." What about the "world champ" title. There are actual Splatoon world champs out there and instead of reserving the title for them, they give it to any average joe who beats the secret story mode level. Also the weapon user titles. The game still tracks how much turf you've inked with a weapon, but now you have to use the app to see it for some stupid reason. It would be cool to have some other weapon based titles that you unlocked by reaching certain turf inked thresholds. Like, 100,000 turf gives you "*weapon* user" title, 1,000,000 gives you "*weapon* main", and 9,999,999 gives you "*weapon* god". Like, imagine chilling in anarchy open and then some dude hops in with the title "Squeezer God."
