Seungkwan and his vocal teacher actually mentioned that his voice is naturally husky/breathy so he had to work really hard on his technique and find work-arounds to expand his range. While DK's instrument is naturally very clear and bright, and also a bit more agile. And Woozi and Pledis make use of these different tones to bring out a certain kind of emotion when writing songs. They often put Seungkwan on parts that are supposed to sound really cozy or really sad/defeated, and they often use DK's voice to add dynamic change to the songs because his voice just jumps out at you.

Seungkwan, DK, Joshua being my favorites but i think it was Dk's voice color, and how he sounds so Effortless, the resonance and power he has yet theres this lightness and so much clarity to it... and it's been so many years now, I never tire from listening to his vocals, and still getting blown away by his vocals. If DK watches this, he will tear up for sure. When they were trainees, DK is always the one who didn't stand out. It was always Seungkwan who the trainers always complimented when it comes to vocals. With two of them being the main vocalists of the group, it kinda hurt both of them. DK, because he feel like he's not good enough to be a main vocalist. Seungkwan, because he wanted to be complimented alongside with DK. The two of you saying that DK stands out because of his voice made me so proud of him. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on his technique. You’ve also got to hear the original version of Lilili Yabbay to really understand how amazing this Rolling Stones version is. 19:39 I agree with the comments about Jun's singing! I thought I was the only one thinking that. It doesn't feel like his range, so I feel like it gets strained. His voice sounds a lot better when he sings in a lower range, but that's a rare occurrence. (I think some parts of this "Yakimochi" cover is an example.kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXiZZK2MetOjjdk Another one I can think of is when he sang in the GoSe rice paddy episode, really nice. That's his range!) I actually don't know why vocal professionals around him keep making him sing high parts. In fact, I feel like a lot of them are made to sing high but actually they sound better singing low notes. My guess is because they got used to that range because they debuted younger so their voices were still higher and can take it. But now that they've grown up, their voices have matured and lowered more. I really feel like there needs to be an adjustment to be made about the keys most of them sing in.
@alera27 Жыл бұрын
Kpop in general makes everyone sing higher, that's why if you look through every group most of them are tenors. I'm glad there are more people with lower tones like Felix in Stray Kids now though. I wish it was more normal that they let kids without lower range to sing their range and don't force them to reach higher notes. Regarding Jun though, I definitely think he's improved a lot since this Rolling Stone performance dropped. His most recent covers and the Jun playlist video was just beautiful.

He naturally have a breathy voice even when he's talking, he doesn't add anything ! Yes the vocals of the performance unit are no joke (last one) ! Usually, the song they performed don't sound like this at all lmao 😂 I mean, all seventeen members can sing, rap and dance perfectly in sync. Love your reaction ! Hope you will react to more Seventeen songs 😊

they probably didn't have anything to say as it was a rap and not really singing. you guys have to understand that they are vocal teachers who specialize in singing not rapping.
@sophiagage77446 ай бұрын
@@jjlnddd this is not really a valid explanation. they didn't comment on scoups voice either but still played his part in the video, plus wonwoos verse had the other three adlibing and although yes chase and melia don't specialize in rap, they comment on tone and emotion often which i would say wonwoos verse is very emotional/emotive. may just be better to say they didn't realise they cut his part out or that they may have had an editing issue :)

I love it when professional vocal teachers react to SEVENTEEN because they can (both of you!!) identify the differences in the members' vocals and describe them accurately. I agree with everything you guys said about DK's voice, not just because I bias him, but because his voice is so impressive. I love his voice so much, it gives life to a song, and I think that's beautiful. Honestly, I'm a sucker for DK compliments when it comes to singing because not everyone appreciates his voice like the two of you did. Not everyone highlights his singing skills whenever they react to one of their videos (their singing videos), and that's fine because it's their reaction, it's what they perceive to hear and see, but not saying anything about DK (and Seungkwan) doesn't sit right to me! So thank you so much for loving DK's voice and having Seungkwan as your second favorite. They're my favorite main vocals.

Performance team is responsible for choreographies and dancing. That unit consists of some of the most talented dancers who can also sing as well as rap. Seventeen is ranked number 1 for performing their songs with 100% synchronization tested by AI. I really wish you would also see their performances either live or their MV as it only seems respectful.

It’s fun seeing you two falling harder and harder for DK. Seventeen is having tour on US so if you guys have time please consider seeing them live you’ll be blown away literally. Their live singing is 100% more fun and such an amazing experience. P.S: I see you’re trying very hard to not offend everybody, I appreciate it 🥹

After hearing you guys talking about harmonies I NEED a reaction to "Habit", which is a song by Seventeen's Vocal Unit and which, for me at least, has one of their best harmonies. This song is just BEAUTIFUL and it would be very interesting for you to react to any performance of it (especially the 2018 performance of the Japan Arena Tour).

in the process of the reaction of seventeen, like you see in the video, they were divided in units, in which each person's skill fit more: - the first one is vocal unit, like the name they are more specialised in vocals - the second is the hip hop unit, which is more specialised in rapping - the last one is the performance unit, which is more specialised in dancing but they all-rounders so they each have their own role in the group, so for example the vocal can rap or dance and so on... (+) they always perform together, but some times they create sub units song or for special stages

thank you for another seventeen reaction! if you’re still interested in reacting to them again, i’d be interested in hearing your opinions on solos by dk and seungkwan (seventeen’s main vocals). i’d suggest seungkwan’s ‘forsake’ and dokyeom’s ‘she didn’t love me’, which are both from four or five years ago so they’ve both improved since then, but i’m a little biased because they’re my favs haha :D

Please do listen more of Jun’s vocals! He has improved so SO MUCH, and I think compared to his earlier years, he’s really done so much coaching and it was very evident in this video. As a singer, I’ve also observed his tongue problem while singing (because most of the time it blocks the air and sound from coming out, making it a bit nasal as well), but I promise he has improved A LOT. I felt so proud while watching this whole thing. 🥹🫶🏼 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hF7dipegeLiAjbM

@8:15 I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on Woozi's voice and techniques.... He literally wrote 99% of all their music since they were trainees till now and has won Best Producer last year, and he's been a full-time member of the Korea Music Assoc (which is hard to be a full member of) since 2019.. He basically writes the parts for the different voices of SVT and knows and supports all the different music and styles the members want to try in their music... There's practically no music genre/style he has not written and composed music in (ofc you get what I mean) and he is the most well-rounded member... He has such a beautiful voice, and would be main vocalist for any other Kpop boy group, but for SVT he happily left those titles to DK and Seungkwan, but he also does majority of the harmonizing and backup vocals for the other members (he adds his voice in during his post recording and production process).

To be honest, I'm so happy you guys commented on Dino's vocal techniques because I feel like he's had a lot of vocal improvements. Louder, beautiful faces and handsome members are most popular and fans don’t care much about their vocals that’s in general in Kpop not only in SVT
@aprilswk69992 жыл бұрын
I was just discussing it elsewhere, how the main vocalists other than jungkook and baekhyun, (however famous the group could be) are the least popular or least biased or underappreciated members. Like take any other group, Red velvet's Wendy, Blackpink Rose, Seventeen Dk and Seungkwan, Twice's Jihyo, SKZ Seungmin etc etc... I mean one would assume that as singers by proffession, vocalists would not be underappreciated out of all the other positions...but visuals being a lot lot more popular in many of these groups I mention (RV's Irene, Twice's Tzuyu, skz Hyunjin, svt mingyu, jeonghan etc).... Shows that visuals can really overtake vocals for many fans... I'm in no way trying to say visuals aren't talented, many of them are multitalented but best vocalists not getting enough appreciation in a group full of singers says something about fans....
