I was brought up in a very abusive household. I was diagnosed with bpd at 13 I’m now 24 my current therapist opinion is that I now suffer with complex ptsd. I really struggle to regulate my emotions in particular I struggle to get upset and think about the things that are traumatic for me. It’s like it’s gone out my memory. But this song really triggers my emotions and brings up a lot of deep saddening feelings. This song really is amazing. My mum never left my dad after he was psychically and emotionally abusive to her and to me and to my other siblings.. I really relate to this song

Hoping on it soon tho, just today we called the police on him because he was drunk and verbally abusive to us and I've convinced my mom to get a divorce. Some scary shit, I was the one to call the police but I had to cause I'm so tired of what he's turned our life into. Abusive people should be gotten rid of as soon as the abuse happens, I hope no one lives 20 years of their life with their abuser like my Mom did. she should have gotten rid of him a long ass time ago, but hopefully since I'm older now I can give her the strength and courage and we will finally do it. I'm terrified of what the future holds for me though, fuck.

Preeti K OK, are you alone now? You should get some support; if you are old enough to move, please do with your Mother. Seek refuge through contacting the police and telling them your situation. You may get a lawyer and sue your Father, if that's what you want. It can get him maybe 10 or more years in prison, and he'll be kept away from you and your Mother for the rest of his life.

we have a plan similar to that, but things like this take time. my mom has to make an appointment w a laywer, pay him too, and she can't do that until next week because she works. the police didn't do anything today because it was only emotional and verbal abuse, not physical. and apparently saying he abused us in the past and we're scared he might again doesn't help them. he's been arrested for it before, like 3 years ago. police weren't able to take any action against him tho. anyway once we get the divorce we'd prob have to move house and my mom might have to change her job. it's so much hassle to just get rid of one person. anyway thank you for the advice and even caring enough to reply back. it means a lot. i hope you never have to deal with abuse, ever.

My mother taught me how to do everything right by her doing everything wrong as a parent. I learned compassion through her malice. In case some of you are not getting the connection, the point of the video is that she can't find the time or patience for her father. She can't sit around watching her father beating her family and than her mom just allowing it and forgiving him so easily. So instead of staying around after the mother drops chargers, she moves out. She gave him time to be a good father, but he kept making mistakes. What you can take from this is stop letting people use excuses for their actions. If someone keeps repeating mistakes you can't live with, than move on. Her father was the model here, but this can apply to anyone you are losing time and patience with.

If you suffer from an abusive husband or wife, leave, don't just do it for yourself but do it for your children, you might be able to salvage what's left of their open spirit, and you will live for a better future and not from a bitter past. And if you do stay you will loose your kids, they will blame you for not being the strong figure they desperately needed, and you will loose one of the greatest things this life has to offer, family.
