I saw an interview with Kai where he made the point that this is the first album with Kai drumming _as Kai_ . On Endless Forms, they still thought that Jukka might return, so Kai kind of channelled Jukka when they recorded the drums. Now that Jukka has officially retired, Kai could put his own stamp on the drum parts for this album.

Saddened to hear that Jukka has decided to retire glad though that he chose his replacement as that shows how much he loves his bandmates and they him. He could have just said sorry cant do it anymore and just left it at that. But he didnt.
@susibelle29554 жыл бұрын
@@granthoule7418 As far as I know, Jukka is still in a band management, he is doing paperwork now as he is also good with numbers. It was health issues that made it too difficult to play on tours. So he never "left" the band, just quit playing drums.

I think Kai Hahto has mentioned in one of his most recent interviews that he had to add a 5-6 new drums to his drum kit to be able to play songs on this last album. And did you noticed the final Floor’s vocal part - it’s one big 14-15 seconds piece in one breath, crowned by her vibrato adjusted to the beats of the drums? :)

"Yeah yeah, pause pause..." -Chase Carneson 2020 Dude I am pretty sure that the vast majority of people don't mind you pausing that often. In fact, I like that you are pausing a lot, because you really have something informative to say during every pause, not just "wow, that's cool" or "great". But I am pretty sure I am not the first one who told you that ;)

Hello Chase. Since you began reacting to Nightwish I am hooked to your way of reacting. First it was "oh, nice music, very well played, they are so professional". Musically I was a complete nitwit. Now I know a little more about how structured the songs are and how intruments working together. A bit more technicallity at my side. Your reactions are just world class, loving them so much and sometimes even watch them several times, just to know more about how songs are built. Keep the good work going. And as many of the followers say: pause as much as you think you need to fully explain all you hear so you share it with us. And BTW, happy birthday. Worth checking out: Ayreon
@peterbell31993 жыл бұрын
Exactly, I've been a music lover since I was a kid, and played in school band thru high school, but I never had anyone explain music to me. I just played what was on the sheet music. But Chase is helping learn more about the music structure and how it works, and it's been great to learn this while listening to my favorite Nightwish songs!

One aspect of quite a few Nightwish songs I have noticed is they can't be easy to sing. They don't conform to 'ordinary' rhythms or metres, and breath control has to be expemplary. Not that Floor seems to have any problems, but then, she ain't human! This song is gonna be so nuts live!

Hi Chase. I really like your reactions, you always are able to find some details in songs in just one hearing, that in my case took me several listenings to get. I'm really impressed. I see that you already did some Epica Reactions. If I may, I request you to react to Epica - Chasing the Dragon (live Retrospect 2013). This is a really hard song to sing, and Simone Simons was 3 months pregnant at that live, which adds another difficulty to this very hard song and makes it an unbelievable performance.
