True. Another thing that always amazes me is how short their songs feel compared to their actural length, and compared to other bands' three-minute songs that feel like eternity even if they are good.

@@andouta Try "Tales from Topographic Oceans" from Yes, double LP, 4 sides only 4 songs, that was a real masterpiece. What a journey this is!!! Since I discovered Nightwish and Floor a couple of months ago ( where have I been?) my life got an extreme upgrade, if not a total reset. We are experiencing a musical wonder. Composing craftsmanship, musician excellence, unique talents, it's an epic journey. On a weekly basis, I discover new highlights. So in fact there are no highlights. Everything is of the highest standard and a highlight on it's own. I am 67 years old, worked in the music industry for ten's of years, but never, never, never experienced this. Like I read in earlier comments, the strangest thing is that not a few songs are good....Everything is exceptional. I am glad I was born in the right period of time to be able to experience this. Charlie, Elizabeth, Julia, my psychologist and you have learned me one of the most vital lessons ever that my both parents were never able to teach me. Never ever compare people. On the surface we look similar, but on the inside are we deeply unique with everything what have been given physically, what our parents ware able to teach us, which challanges, problems and limitations we are daily faced with, which decisions make and the consequences of them we will and have to live with and above all the courage that we need to have to live and overcome our own vulnerabilities. It is such a pleasure for me to watch your reactions on any live performance. To me you did something excellent in this specific reaction video. You try to stay far away from comparing with each other. It is more than obvious that you recognise and enjoy the uniqueness of Floor, but you still give any other artist the respect, attention and credit they deserver. I simply enjoy watching your reactions, because you always have that positive approach and vibe without any exception to any artist. That's what I like about you.

@katies80703 жыл бұрын
This song is one of my favorites because the melody is so fun to sing, but it's also one of the hardest for me to listen to because of the emotion in it. To me it perfectly captures the anguish of the "guilty" soldier, someone who's killed in war to save themselves, but understands that the person they killed is just like them, fighting a war that isn't theirs. They know they haven't done anything wrong, they were just fighting to survive, but they can't help but feel bad for being the one who pulled the trigger. To me the verses sound hollow and almost monotone, like someone talking about a traumatic experience with a blank stare and every emotional sheild in place because otherwise they'll break. At the end of the verse the melody moves up, like they're moving from blank monotone to fear of judgement/justification (I had no choice, what else could I have done?). The chorus sounds to me like someone trying to run away from what they're feeling, from the memories of those faces. The lyrics echo this with phrases like "cut me free" and "pull the plug, end the pain". It's a beautiful, haunting, and very emotional song, and as much as I love singing it, it's hard not to tear up in the middle of it.
@machintelligence3 жыл бұрын
This song is probably a reference to the Winter War of 1939, the Soviet invasion of Finland. It was said afterwards that each Finnish soldier was the equal of ten Russians. The Finns held out for months although hugely outnumbered. In March of the next year they surrendered and signed an armistice. Accepting the armistice cost Finland 11 percent of its territory, including the country's second city of Vyborg. The Winter War left 25,904 Finns dead. The Soviets lost at least 126,875 soldiers. The Soviet losses were probably 5 or 10 times that. It was later observed that they had conquered just about enough territory to bury their dead. "Deliver me from this war It's not for me it's because of you" "I'd kill them all to save my own" The Finns were on the defensive and received almost no help from other nations, but the poor performance of the Soviet armies against such a small opponent probably convinced Hitler that they would be a pushover. This led to his invasion of Russia and his ultimate downfall.
