He's definitely the first one capable of it, and he has the weapons. Side note: I really thought the side screen to Swift was designed. At least parts of it were...if I remember right, in his postgame interview, Williams said that pushing the rushers past him was by design, so at least that part was. If the rest was off script, that's even cooler, because as I played it back a few times, I found it particularly impressive that Swift's blockers were -exactly- where they needed to be. Colton (#65) absolutely TRUCKED Dorian Williams (#42) like he knew where the heat was coming from and what the angle would be. If the way that play developed was spontaneous, and that's the kind of thing this unit is capable of -- and if the defense continues playing lights out -- this is going to be the most exciting Bears team to watch in decades.

If he’s not then I give up 😂 we haven’t drafted someone with this amount of talent at QB ever nor have we surrounded a QB with actual talent and an at least decent OC. If he doesn’t do it then there’s either some curse 😂 I don’t wanna get ahead of my self but with the weapons this team has I think there’s a very real chance he does it this year

What a great QB breakdown, Chase!! You're the best! Loved it! It just feels different with Caleb... the poise in the pocket, eyes down the field, working through his progressions, the throws from either side! I'm sure Caleb's ability to read defenses will continue to get better, but I already like where he's at in his development. And yes, Caleb Williams will be the 1st Bears QB to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season! Finally! I'm SHOCKED that Jay never accomplished that 4K milestone, especially when he had Brandon and Alshon. He certainly had the arm talent for it! 🐻⬇

He has 3 things that can't be coached imo. Pocket awareness, strong arm, and a lightning quick release. He also "sees" the field which can be coached, to some extent, as far as going thru progressions but he sees things more "naturally" for lack of a better word. I played QB thru HS and some college and my biggest problem was "field vision". I think that is one of Justin Fields problems along with a slow release and bad pocket presence and why I don't ever see him being a very good QB. I think sky is the limit for Caleb, he has it all imo, and not just based off this 1 preseason game. 🐻⬇️ ✌️✝️
