He's definitely the first one capable of it, and he has the weapons. Side note: I really thought the side screen to Swift was designed. At least parts of it were...if I remember right, in his postgame interview, Williams said that pushing the rushers past him was by design, so at least that part was. If the rest was off script, that's even cooler, because as I played it back a few times, I found it particularly impressive that Swift's blockers were -exactly- where they needed to be. Colton (#65) absolutely TRUCKED Dorian Williams (#42) like he knew where the heat was coming from and what the angle would be. If the way that play developed was spontaneous, and that's the kind of thing this unit is capable of -- and if the defense continues playing lights out -- this is going to be the most exciting Bears team to watch in decades.

If he’s not then I give up 😂 we haven’t drafted someone with this amount of talent at QB ever nor have we surrounded a QB with actual talent and an at least decent OC. If he doesn’t do it then there’s either some curse 😂 I don’t wanna get ahead of my self but with the weapons this team has I think there’s a very real chance he does it this year

What a great QB breakdown, Chase!! You're the best! Loved it! It just feels different with Caleb... the poise in the pocket, eyes down the field, working through his progressions, the throws from either side! I'm sure Caleb's ability to read defenses will continue to get better, but I already like where he's at in his development. And yes, Caleb Williams will be the 1st Bears QB to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season! Finally! I'm SHOCKED that Jay never accomplished that 4K milestone, especially when he had Brandon and Alshon. He certainly had the arm talent for it! 🐻⬇

What’s CRAZY about CW18 when I watch him play is it’s like seeing BOTH Aaron Rodgers & Patrick Mahomes combined! His pocket poise and awareness and the way he can manipulate it is VERY Rodgersesque. Then his improvisation and arm talent is where the Mahomes comparisons come in to play. I know that he will have his ups and downs being a rookie and all, but if and I mean IF our OL plays even REMOTELY average then he’s gonna be REALLY fun to watch!! 🐻👇🏻

I liked what I saw from Williams, the o line, and the play calling in general. Getting him out of the pocket sometimes was good, keeping the D guessing. the throw away on the goal line in the red zone should have been a touchdown however. He'll make that play more often than not going forward based on the rest of his performance. A good enough start for sure.

He has 3 things that can't be coached imo. Pocket awareness, strong arm, and a lightning quick release. He also "sees" the field which can be coached, to some extent, as far as going thru progressions but he sees things more "naturally" for lack of a better word. I played QB thru HS and some college and my biggest problem was "field vision". I think that is one of Justin Fields problems along with a slow release and bad pocket presence and why I don't ever see him being a very good QB. I think sky is the limit for Caleb, he has it all imo, and not just based off this 1 preseason game. 🐻⬇️ ✌️✝️

Com’on Chase. On the first play if its a zone number 15 is suppose to stop in the center the way he did. It was open and he didn’t throw it. If it’s man then he suppose to keep running. It looks like a missed read. It’s in ongoing theme from his college days. They called it “hero ball”. When Fields did it it’s called “he can’t read a defense”.

No TD's , this whole game was more about Buffalo Mistakes than Bears successes. We still have red zone issues. First completion , Calebs eyes gave the lane away of where he wanted to throw. The Swift play. I credit Swift with that one more so than Williams because swift also shouldn't have been looking for the ball that quick, but he recognized the issues and stopped to wait for it. I will give him total credit for the pump fake. Key when a play breaks down.

Chase... That first play, 14 would not be open even if 15 kept running. the safety had it covered.

As a Vikings fan, I'm worried that the Bears might actually have a QB for the first time...in...ever?

If you think this league isn't rigged. Just look at how they handled the Damar Hamlin situation. 9'ers weren't winning last super bowl no matter what.

Shades of Mahomes. But you could see interceptions down the line when teams adjust. Needs to find a happy medium. But the talent is no doubt.

9:45 - be honest, that play is ugly. Caleb locks in on Rome and literally never even thinks about going anywhere else. He threw a pick 6 there, except he got lucky that the defender didn't take advantage. Caleb had a good debut, but pretending every play was good is just not honest analysis.

I couldn’t disagree more. In that first play he’s looking right at that zoned safety. When that safety didn’t jump the drag that’s where the ball should’ve gone. Instead he held the ball too long and got nothing out of the play. But yall want him to be a success so badly you’re telling us this was great on his part. It wasn’t. That was losing football.
