Great to hear new takes from this band anytime. They were an amazing concept, never to be duplicated. Thanks for posting, JJ...

anyone have a recording of Bill Chase playing a solo of "Shenandoah" live? I saw him in '72 or '73 and the entire arena was dead silent when he played that song -- amazing
@chasefreak3 жыл бұрын
what? NEVER heard of that...where was this??? Was Bill a guest soloist? Never did that tune w the group that I know about...
@GFLJO3 жыл бұрын
yes, Susan, please let us know where you heard Bill play this solo - was it with CHASE, or with some other ensemble?
@GFLJO3 жыл бұрын
@@chasefreak maybe you can ask one of the group members in 72 or 73 if Bill ever did this - maybe they'd have a recollection of the situation...

Maybe, but perhaps it was a big band arrangement Bill did as a guest soloist? I think the song in question is some old folk tune which wasn’t part of the normal show tunes as I have several bootlegs from that time…once again, the mystery grows

Didn't like the keyboard part on "Open Up Wide." Sounded too much like a trumpet and kind of interfered with the horn parts.

Yea, Wally Yohn...acquired taste for many...however, in the fall of 1972, having a synthesizer on your band made you state of the art

@@chasefreak Wally was a great keyboard artist. Period.
