I'm for anybody that supports corporation. Working with US based Ford fanatics only further improve things for the average bloke. Instead of blowing money on marginal Windsor based heads from Trick Flow, spend the same or even less money on a Clevor and make 10-15% more power.

The big three back and forth is so lame. Most performance heads are hemispherically cut. Don’t be so susceptible to marketing and advertising. Just make your air pump (engine) more powerful and efficient and leave the brand bs out. Attaching yourself to an old design while bashing new developments only hinders progress in our industry.

Hey Luke, greetings from the Southeastern United States. I’ve been working with Clevelands for 40 years and I can’t thank you enough for posting these superb videos featuring the outstanding Higgins induction components. Whenever someone doubts the performance potential of the small block Ford topped with the ultimate heads, I just recommend your videos to them. Seeing is believing. Cleveland’s are king! Simple engine for HP as long as you’re running a closed chamber heads. I’m running low 9’s with factory closed chamber iron cylinder heads on a 175 shot. Chris Parker funnel web intake, mechanical roller cam, flat top forged pistons, factory crankshaft. Nothing special!
@dj4monie
@dj4monie 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Closed chamber heads are the key. Trying to do it with open chamber heads will lead to frustration. That said if the expectation is about 400 hp, then 2V iron heads are just fine. MPG still makes parts for the Cleveland which help with low speed torque with the 4V Iron heads. Even though Clevors are the base for all Ford NASCAR Cup engines it seems that knowledge doesn't filter down to the masses. In-fact the Panoz GTR used a Roush Clevor; when the point is to make as much power as possible you can't go wrong with a Cleveland or a Clevor including the Boss 302.

I'll assume 100 octane unleaded is the fuel. Maintenance is adjusting the valve lash every so often. Depending how you beat on it, 2-3 seasons out of the short block before you might have a look at the bearings. 2 Steps hammer the bearings and main seal. That said 500-600 hp in a everyday streetcar is pretty fast.

It seems weird that the videos would show their engine mounted and operational in a car in a circuit but then fail to mention the 0-60 mph time?

But since 400 plus ci is not allowed by most motorsport categories they are limited to drag racing only. A very small market here an in the US everything seems to be LS as well. Or big block. As someone playing with a Clevo I am limited to 6 litre, as is speedway applications as well. Too big for a Sprintcar also and you would need to develop injection too suit. On a 410 and 8500 rpm they may be good. But hard to sell as the market is Chev based dominated. SO are these any good on a 'normal' 355 clevo or Windsor or a 347? On 100 avgas or E85?

Yes, Higgins offers several port sizes, a smaller package would suit 355 cubes. It depends though the combustion chamber angle isn't like the OE head. That might get you nabbed by the rules makers.

Also AV Gas is pointless. These aren't airplane engines.

@@dj4monie You can run your car on AvGas (110 Octane Leaded fuel in Oz). Back in the day many Summernats cars ran on it until the Government banned it. Ran my Monaro on it.

@@fullboost NO its a 465 small block with no factory components, all high end aftermarket big dollar race stuff. Stop leading people astray making it sound anyone can build one. Complete heads are around $12,000 - $13,000 Few people could aford this type of build and as stated, definetly not street car freindly. Its a good build but still doent make as much as a small block ford 358ci nascar HP per ci. This is just a publicity deal and good luck to him as this is what business is all about.

@@michaelk7572 Perhaps re-watch the video champ. We specifically stated this is NOT a street engine. And yes anyone could copy this combo if they wanted to as Nathan said these are conventional heads. Yes its 465ci based off a conventional 351 small block. 👍
