We went out to Shift Sector Indiana earlier this month for some half mile racing with two of our Shelby GT500s. Brandi got behind the wheel of her X900S GT500 for the first time at a race event and our CX1600R GT500 made it's first passes on it's all-new TKM Performance Built Engine & Hellion Twin Turbo setup!

I’ve been having DCT issues for months now on a customers GT500. SSP dual clutches on a otherwise a bone stock trans. Trans threw a “shift fork “A” unrequested movement detected” code at the drag strip, went into limp mode and lost even gears. We’ve re synchronized the position sensors, changed fluid/filters, reset adaptive learning numerous times but no permanent fix. Now it runs fine in manual mode, no more position sensor code, but it randomly glitches and throws clutch pressure codes in auto during downshifts. Unsure if it’s the solenoids or TCM but it’s frustrating to say the least. I’ve reached out to tremec and they won’t help at all, they refer me to the dealer. Dealer has no clue and parts aren’t available. We’re SOL

They know full well that these cars are gonna raced, get modified and raced some more so yes there definitely needs to be aftermarket support from tremec to make that dct stand up to the extra power gt500 owners are put through them.

It sounds like Tremec may have some kind of contractural/legal situation with Ford re: the programming in the trans.

I have the same issue with my gt500. Talked to the dealership they said it might be the solenoids i should be putting it in soon. I also did the SSP upgrade clutches but didn’t help.

Tough being limited by the trans, but thats some impressive programming they did to manage to lock everyone out. It took a bit to get the ZR1 sorted but i figured it would be cracked eventually. Just doesnt seem right to keep people from breaking their own shit, they should have put a time lock on it so after warranty its gtg.

I love the DCT in my '20 GT500 and it has worked well for my needs at the track and is great on the street. That said, if I was in the straight line game with horsepower like what Ken is running here I'd be yanking the factory transmission out in a heartbeat. Ken, life's short. Time for a PPG sequential and finally being able to put the power down since Tremec seems to have no intention to get involved whatsoever.

I’m dealing with the same problem. My 2020 GT500 shuts down for a second at 7300rpms in Manual Mode, ever since the last Ford PCM/TCM update. This is extremely frustrating! 🤬

Why does the car shift so long after hitting the paddle in the blue car?

Managing the power through the shift and applying the clutch slower. You can't just shift at WOT at that power level instantly shit will break or it seems the trans computer will shut it down so it doesn't break.

The slow shifts of that dct are sad and you can’t launch hard plus doesn’t want to go 2 3 like damn that sucks man. The 1/8 mile in that car is kinda sad but damn if it does grow wings after that 🤣. Either way once you figure it out the car will fly.

Not the issue. We've tested a Dodson clutch in a 1100hp GT500 but can't reprogram the transmission to work with it.

Many variables such as transmission and gear set, rev limiter, and ultimately the driver. The 2013/2014 GT500 was marketed as a 200mph mustang because of gearing from factory. The 2020 GT500 was built more for road course / circuit racing.

The 13/14 Gt500 takes a hell of a lot longer than a half mile to get to 200 and so does a hellcat.

@@PalmBeachDyno I have a 2020 supercharged mustang gt that I do roll race and stuff with. Nothing serious like what your doing. I was really just talking top end between the 2 cars stock. Plus the fact Ford seems to build these awesome speed machines then slaps governors on them. Like my Mustang I payed 11500 dollars to put a roush r2650 on it and still cannot go over 155. I know you can have it removed. But that voids my warranty with roush. Its crazy just doing 181 mph in a half mile but I know you guys will get it done. Wish you guys had a shop in Portland. I would love to have you guys do some work on my Mustang.
