Chasing 70 MPH!! | New Top Speed with Associated DR10M?

A few years ago when I began building a RC drag car, I had no clue what to expect. After the first few passes with the car I knew I wanted to go faster. From 50mph, to 60 mph, now I want to reach 70. To get to 80 we first have to hit 70mph!!
Since getting the Associated DR10M, we've gotten closer and closer but haven't pushed over the edge yet. Laying down some great passes and setting some new personal bests in ET, I know we're really close.
So what will it take to get to 70mph? Can we get there? I'll push today until we get there!!

Hey man,, I recently subscribed to your channel,,, basically because I just got my first DR10M ,,, I’m building it as we speak 👍👍I have checked out a couple of your videos with your DR10M .. I am learning about the gear ratios and how much they can change the game instantly .. I club race a “ wheeler “ ( associated of course ) It’s the RC10 b7.4D and I JUST GOT DONE W another associated car .. the Rc10 T6.2 stadium truck . I would Say that the st . I've had great luck with the d DR10M so far. Seeing a lot of people run way more expensive chassis but I'd like to see just how fast we could go with this one.

Hey man long time. I got to 73 so far on the castle system. But my et was 2.3. Now I'm at 2.15 2.13 gnss 69 70 mph. Had a event this weekend I got 3rd. My buddy came on me and got me by a bumper. Aaggghhh. Lol it was fun I love this rc thing. Keep it up dude. Hey Try 4pole it's a so much power man they make. 6-7 hp insane for a motor so small.💯💪🏿💪🏿

What kinda of preping are you doing with the tires? I just got some sweep vht crushers and put them on air. I feel as if my tire choice and prepping has been holding me back

For a fresh set of tires, I first condition them by sanding to open up the pores of the rubber and scrubbing clean with simple green. I leave the tires sit with simple green on them overnight at minimum. I use get stuck tire prep and when making passes, I clean the tires with brake cleaner, heat them up, apply the prep and let it flash and then heat them up again before the pass. Hope this helps!!

I've heard changing the ESC wires to 10 gauge nets a few mile an hour gain not sure how true maybe something to try out

What battery do you recommend using for RC no prep dragracing

I went with something with a higher mah rating to add a little weight but mainly you want a high discharge rating. I use a Maclan battery to go with their esc but there's also some others like maxamps, r1 wurks, smc, gens ace. Just have to see which you rather.

@@andrewgarland9981 honestly start with one of the rtr cars or a really mild setup in a kit. Get used to driving the car first. Then you can add more power

What was your fluid in your shocks during this time?

Since building the DR10M I've always run the same shocks fluids. 30wt (or less if I had it) in the front and 100wt in the rear.

If you have the drk, once you plug it in to your pc, it gives you the option on the left to unlock it.
