Certainly was a nice Northern! Much the same as the 1 I speak of that I caught with a friend on 1 cast. If you could image ,come up from its tail in that picture to the 2nd belly fin & down from the head to the same point,"smack dab in the middle!" Tear the scales off in a 1/2 wide ring all the way around its girth & add teeth marks to the scales skin there. No kidding ,it was nothing I could have ever imagined,but to actually hold it,see it & witness it was unbelievable & still haunts me. It was a nasty bite mark from another pike that dwarfed it. Probably +50" for sure. It was a clean single snap from what I could see & it went in head first into the larger attacking pikes mouth & was held there twisting & rolling for a while atleast. The only other damage marks were a few drag marks up to & in the direction of its head as it twisted free & back out & escaped. I should have taken pictures, but did not even though I kept & cleaned it due to the damage it had suffered in the attack. My friend Mike who stood next to me just stared at it in disbelief. I know I've had a few of those monsters on before ,but they break me off or the lure fails & hooks straitened out if the line is heavy enough. So lighter line? Well now they drag you out & tangle in structure that they ambush from & break you off. One of these times I'm going to set a state record.

Great video don't have Pike close to me in Oregon thank goodness the salmon and steelhead are already in trouble they don't need any more predators😊
