How can you tell the difference between a creek chub and redtail? they look the exact same to me
@330Maniac7 күн бұрын
The design on their body. If you use them enough you can tell pretty easily

@@330Maniac appreciate the response, I’m catching a lot of chubs/shiners in the dried up backwaters puddles of the Minnesota river and hoping to find these red tails and identity them. Do they have bumpy heads like the hornyhead?

I wanted to comment on your section at 23 minutes because we have had an issue with this as land owners with our property that goes into a pond and actually comes out on the other side. We have the documents showing we own this and we DO PAY TAXES on this land. . . . . . .however, since we do not own the entire pond and another family has their yard that backs up to the pond as well they are allowed to use the water as it is considered "public" or free access per the local laws. The new neighbors have ridden their snowmobiles over the pond killing all of 40 years of healthy vegetation from blueberry bushes on an inner part of the pond to cranberry bushes to natural vegetation. We have learned that in the winter the "water" turns into "land" as you can walk on it and drive on it and we can then put up a fence with t-posts and it's trespassing. When the water is not frozen then they can canoe around and it's like general use unless they put a post into the dirt under the water/the ground and then they would be messing with our land. It's strange laws and the Police Officer had to sit in his car for an hour in the yard trying to read up on it since we showed that it was our property and had video footage, then we got referred to the city as they destroyed natural vegetation that has not and is nt growing back and the city people came out to a woods setting with a major hill wearing office type shoes (yes, that woman who said she knew about water vegetation in MN wore black heels and a skirt to walk through hundreds of feet of woods downhill through woods that have thorny plants, natural downed trees and branches, and it's a wetlands area. . . . .wearing a skirt) and then complained that she couldn't get down close enough to the water to see the damage when those of us who seem to be aware have on muck style/waterproof boots and thick pants because it's a wetland at the bottom of a hill in the woods. . . . . .and the case got referred to the DNR who said they don't have enough staff to enforce the laws they have on the books in MN. Yes, actual homeowners do pay taxes on our land that is covered by water. . . . . . . . .even if it is so other people can use it, abuse it, and destroy as the "new neighbors" that not one family in the neighborhood likes after 40 years of living there. - I demanded that we not be responsible for the taxes if we don't actually "own" the property and have no rights to protect it!!!!!!!! Fellow born and raised MN on my parents farm and the land under water crap is something that no department from PD to DNR to the City Commision to Keep Wildlife to the City checking on the laws about the fact they show we own the property. . . . . . .the government just wants their tax money for property we don't really have rights to because even when it is solid and turned into land and i have video evidence. . . .No One will enforce anything. A friend advised I put some rebar (or my broken t-posts) in the ice when it's good and frozen that is nice and low since it's my property. . . . . you know, much lower than any fence, just to see how snowmobiles do since people have no respect for property lines or nature. The laws are unclear and contradict each other and no one wants to enforce them about the water. The only one enforced is to pay the tax man.

I had my doubts, but being willing to try anything once, I caught and cooked a Beaver a few years ago... to say I was surprised/ amazed at the taste is an understatement! Many compare beaver meat to pot roast, I don't think a cow comes close :)

Your filter design makes much more sense than others that pump the water to the bottom of the bucket and then it comes up thru the filters and back out the exhaust in to the tank. Their design doesn't make sense as far as filter stages and cleaning

It’s crazy how many people use this knife the wrong way. It was designed to use the backside to cut from under the scales because the scales are what dull the knife.
