I remember the destruction heading North to Canton and how horrible it was and I'm just happy it didn't go through town, if it did my house would be gone and my cats might be dead, also during this my dad watched a tree fall in our neighbors yard and blocked their front door, the high-school still has missing hurdles from this tornado to this day.

I live one town over from this town and it was a very scary evening. I didn't realize how bad it was when it was happening. I was at work at an assisted living center for the elderly that had no tornado shelter. I was in the middle of cooking dinner for the entire facility when all of the alarms started going off. I had to quickly turn all the food off and go knock on the resident's doors to get them to the safest area and most didn't want to come being elderly and stubborn(it was a hard task) the whole time I was on the phone with my family at home begging me to come home(they were in a safe spot) but I couldn't just leave over 50 residents, there was only about 7 staff members including me. I remember once we got everyone in a hallway(the place has big wide windows everywhere) I could see outside and the hail was huge and the sky got so dark like it was the middle of the night, it was terrifying. Debris was flying everywhere. The power kept cutting out, the hail was huge. I am so thankful the tornado didn't head my way because I don't think I would have made it being there. Still shocked they don't have any type of storm shelter there when there is over 50 ppl who live there plus at least usually 20 staff members.

before this tornado dropped in lewistown it went directly over my house. It had previously dropped and destroyed multiple properties before shortly dissipating then dropping in lewistown. Where I was living narrowly avoided destruction im sure of it, Especially watching the weather radar seeing the eye pass right over me was insane.
