In this case no, as in front of the swim a few yards out were sharp rocks that would cut us off if we added a back lead.

Boggles my mind how many miles north you travel for barbel and if it makes use feel better i moved near the park in the start of the film and i cant seem to catch a barbel there either even tho theres plenty about

I don't see why you'd like to see a barble sit in a net for 10 mins, I feel like people would skip past that making his watch time per vid even lower, him cutting that out is just more convenient for all of us .

@@avoidoneu4061 - not for people new to barbel fishing, it’s essential information. Barbel are like pike, if they’re not rested properly they can go belly up. Most fish are fine. Barbel and pike are different 👍

Hi cal I’m going up the river for some barbel and I don’t know what hookbaits to buy I’m going to be ledring do you know any bait I should use for the hook?

Honestly, it depends on what river you are going to! We always love using Peperami which you can get from supermarkets and spam, however, spam falls off quite easily so it depends on how active you want to be :) You can also get dumbell style baits from tackle shops which will stay on for much longer.

@@liam-cp5wsit really is, such a good river! I would say maybe just feed with spam but don’t bother having on the hook/hair if the flow is crazy as it just won’t stay on. I personally would stick with more durable baits like peperami, the spicy one 😀🥵

It's a brilliant river lots of big fish , the canal is very underrated too spent many of hour pulling chub out of it some brilliant fish in it and nobody fishes it really any more only those looking for the ginger fisherman's big pike !
