Great job conveying your journey and the passion you have for world around us. To live on the Western Slope of Colorado and having easy access to Utah is a blessing for those that seek adventure.

Awesome work! I found this because we were both category winners on Bitesize film festival for august and I had to watch the other documentaries in there! So glad I found the channel. I can’t wait to see more work like this!

Dude, you continuously blow me away with these projects. That shot where he starts riding downhill from the summit, with the moon behind him, felt like something from another planet.i Freakin' awesome work, man.

Phenomenal film and storytelling. I can't imagine doing this and filming it too. 14ers are special, the few times where getting to the top is more meaningful than the ride down.
@DavisYates

We thought so too! Initially we just wanted to capture the descent, but we found that much of the meaning is found in the journey up.

Hey man! Good question, I used a Panasonic GH5, Sigma 18-35, Sigma 50-100, Viltrox speedbooster, Ronin S, Polar Pro Variable ND filters, and a Mavic 2 Pro. For audio we went out to another trail separately and recorded with a boom pole, zoom h5, and rodemic ntg

This is amazing! I’m actually doing it this fall! Thanks for sharing your adventure. I’m planning my route as we speak. You say there are 3 ways to the summit, any intel on the 3rd way up? I know most climb and descend the same trail you came down, but I like the idea of the way you came up.

I enjoyed the film and appreciated the different perspective on a goal which we kinda shared. I merely wanted to be above treeline for sunrise, which I barely achieved with a frigid 4:00 am start. I saw another party's headlamps above me, but had the summit of Colorado's highest mountain to myself, which I will never forget. Riding a bike that high up and backpacking above treeline are two added challenges which I have only done separately, not together, so I applaud your combination of the two, as well as descending with all that gear. I do wish you didn't feel the need to skid out every corner when you were being filmed. It's not impressive, and not needed when you're already telling a good story. You can save the slow-mo BS for park rat edits, and enjoy your achievement in its own right without having to kick up some dust for the camera.

I think it's preeetty necessary to skid around corners when going those speeds, downhill, while trying to stay on a narrow trail.
@KujoA2
@KujoA2 3 жыл бұрын
@@timguzman7850 beg to differ. I live in Colorado and ride dry, dusty trails like this all the time. Cornering by tilting the bike over and pressing your body weight into the cornering knobs is faster and more stable than skidding around every corner, it just doesn't look faster on camera. You might occasionally puff up some dust, but that's different than deliberately flicking your rear wheel in the middle of a shallow, upright turn. It was a very minor gripe, though. I'm sure I'd ride differently loaded down with that much gear.

Such a bazar video. It's just a one day ride and quite rideable to 13K (not to mention there are better ways to carry all that gear) thanks to the local trail boss. The VO is painful.

Yes there are way better ways to carry the equipment, but a lot of that equipment is not exactly affordable. Especially for a college student lol. Though we didn't have the right gear, we made it work, hoping to inspire others to get out and try it, even if they don't have the perfect gear. Plus we had to get the sunrise shot at the top of the mountain!

Watched the whole thing. You city people think way too much. People hike there not bike, that’s the tradition.
