Beautiful video! What an amazing oceanside road. Chasing an orange car on a delicious sounding orange bike is pretty much living the dream. Nice.

KTM Supers are fast. Low 3 seconds to 60mph. And they sound wonderful for an ADV!!

Nice video, but let's be honest) It is not chasing, cause you could not keep up with him. Even more, Ferrari was after Boxter which has questionably fast driver, so it's not chasing, just minding your own business and occasionally seeing a Ferrari) No hate here, just stating subjective opinion)

It wasn't a race, just a ride chasing the Ferrari in some curves, not exceeding my limits and staying safe perhaps the term "chasing" isn't the most correct

@@zulanair Kudos for riding within your limits. The Ferrari was over the line a lot, even with rapidly approaching motorcycles, and your lines were quite good (and safe).

@@zulanair just change gear around 6500 -7000 rpm 🙂 ✌🏻

@@thefake89 I might be looking at this tach wrong, but I noticed that @zulaner did indeed change gears around 7000 rpm when riding briskly. Obviously not every gear change is at precisely the same RPM, but he did seem to change up around that point, a lot of the time. This bike has lots of torque and a rider can certainly make very rapid progress short-shifting. But your comment got my attention for another reason. On the internet it's difficult to know the credentials or experience level of many of the riders we converse with. May I ask how you arrived at the conclusion that this bike should be short-shifted? I looked at your channel for video evidence of your experience with this bike and couldn't find any. I agree, to a point - the wide torque curve on this bike means you can make extremely rapid progress from right down low in the rev range (one of my favorite features of the bike). However, in my experience, the usual benefits of revving out a motor when rapid progress is desired, apply to this bike as much as any other. The SAS isn't tuned for high RPM performance like the SDR, but even on the SAS, there's a bunch more power up high, and the additional engine braking from high RPM downshifts aids corner entry. This comes at the cost of a little more vibration over 8000 RPM, but this is pretty common among motorcycles in general. Would you mind sharing your experience with the bike and let us know how you selected the shift point you did?

@@CurtisBrandt i am not an engineer, just i have the same bike. Considering the context, often he shifts too high and sometimes the shift was not necessary, using the big torque of this engine can be more effective. Seems just not confident with this engine, driving it more like a 4 cylinder. My comment was not intented to be offensive, he makes really great videos!

@@thefake89 thanks for your reply. I have had several 1290s (have two right now) and they are indeed awesome. I felt like the presenter rides well and certainly enjoys a scenic place to play! Why did you think he shifted too high? Was it the blinking tach? I looked as close as I could and I think his tach is blinking at 7k. Very early warning for redline. Do you agree? I don’t debate the effectiveness of short shifting these bikes. I just think that’s exactly what he was doing. I do the same, when I’m only moderately hurrying. When I really want to go, I use the whole range on these bikes and it pretty much scares me silly. ;-)
