Just one advice when it comes to this drone. When used in saltwater, always put it in a tub with freshwater and run the thrusters for a few minutes to drive all the salt out from the bearings. If you just wash it off with a hose like the manual says, the thrusters will still be filled with saltwater, and they will eventually seize up.

This video of that underwater drone is going to stir up a lot of sales for that unit. I want one now so badly!! This marine test was spectacular. I could totally run down the batteries before I even realized it watching those beauties down there. Diving "dry" is a wonderful idea. Definitely worth a spot on the cool tools list. I could see my luck though. I'd take it down on a dive wreck to play / practice, and while flying it along, and my first clue to the resident giant grouper would be seeing a huge mouth close around the rov. Great video. At first I though it was weird that the ROV doesn't have a tilt camera instead of tilting the entire Rov but was then amazed to see it still holds depth while moving forward and reverse while in the tilt. I'm very impressed with the features of this Rov and it seems to be a respectable price point. I like the size of it too... I might just have to look into getting one of these.

You probably already know, but I'll mention it anyway just in case; different lens filters for different water types makes a huge difference in underwater video/image quality. The biggest one being a red lens filter to add the red light wavelength back to the image that the water doesn't allow through. I learned this diving with my GoPro. I highly recommend looking into it, it's a simple thing that makes worlds of difference. Very cool ROV! I'm excited to see what you find with your new boat and toys!
