I was there in 2011 for a few months and the city always felt a bit sketchy... It always seems a lot nicer when i go now / in more recent years. Nice video

I used to stay in Top Mansion in 2010 ish. Always enjoyed myself there. Riding 70kms on those roads in shorts and a vest without a helmet? Smart move.

Hi, thanks for this. Actually,I have traveled all across Indonesia, from Lake Toba in Sumatra,to Borobodur in Java,all the way to Iryan Jaya in the east. Yes stunning nature, very friendly and helpful people !! On top of that,I also visited Surabaya nightclubs and bars. Indonesia is a great place ! Thank you!

The brothel streets were closed down 8 or 9 years ago. I was a regular visitor to them for 5 years prior to that, it was amazing is all I can say about it.

I had stayed there around the same time you did. I was there in 2002-2003 and stayed at the Robinson Hotel until they kicked me out for the Chinees New Year. I then went to Laos for a month.

Yes, the Top Mansion is unchanged, many rooms still have the old TVs from 20 years ago.
