Great start to the year! I went fishing in the bow yesterday for five hours but didn't get anything, only hooked but lost a big rainbow trout. Usually, the bow river produces plenty of nice trout for me.

Stopped by Chain on April 22nd. Parks were stocking the lake at the launch. Four days later, drop by again, lake was dead calm and the fish were rising.

You know me Sean, I’m primarily a Bass fisherman when I’m out in the Kayak and I never troll but the lake I was in earlier this week is stocked with trout every year and the other day there was a Mayfly hatch going on and they were popping all over the surface. Back before I got into kayak fishing I used to fish with a buddy on that lake trolling spoons behind his little boat. After watching you here I think I might have to get a rod holder and troll some spoons on that lake to change things up. Great day out there despite losing the the handle off your reel. Sh*t happens!
@AnglingSpiders6 ай бұрын
Trolling can really rpoduce some fish on the right day. Thanks for the comment

Watch that you are not trilling to fast when going after trout you should be about half the speed than what you be for pike.You could be pulling the hook out when they hit.
@AnglingSpiders4 ай бұрын
Thanks, I am usually going pretty slow as I am also using a much smaller hook, but I will keep that in mind for next time for sure
