Still remember taking my boy fishing the first time, hooked up to a big jack , didn’t give him a hand at all told him , if you get tired i’ll take over , he was 7 years old , he fought that beast all the way back to the boat , he was so proud of himself had to get it mounted for him , all 32lbs of it , he now has it hanging at his place , my boy is 44 now and still loves to go fishing when he can , thanks Keith for filming this adventure with your son , sure brings back those memories , A big thanks again for sharing your video with us : Later

You and your son have a really amazing bond, and the fact that the two of you look so much alike is pretty awesome. I stumbled upon your channel not too long ago, and every time I watch one of your families videos, it makes my day. You see, for the past couple of years, one of my absolute favorite TV shows has been "Swamp People." My buddies tease me, saying I could pass for one of the guys on the show. I never really understood why I felt such a profound connection to the people and culture of the South until about six months back. That's when I was contacted by my biological fathers side of the family. You see, I was adopted when I was 18 days old back in '73 and grew up in the Hollywood Hills of California. But here's the kicker - turns out, my biological father's family is Creole from Louisiana. It all just clicked into place, why I feel such a strong pull toward y'all. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for the videos. They really make my day, and bring back some great memories of my father. I hope to make it down to your neck of the woods one day and experience it all firsthand. Oh and your dog is pretty awesome also, you can tell how much he enjoys getting on the boat and going to the camp.

Not much better than the solid pull of a red in the calm of the morning. Too funny that 1 inch of red makes a fisherman lucky over his fishing buddy. .....

I love that you added Drake fishing video with you when he was only 5 years old. Since you got that fishing trip on video, he can show his own kids years from now that his daddy taught him how to fish. That's just being a awesome dad right there. An at the beginning of this video i think or might have been the one I watched before this one, you was asking him about getting him out early from school to join you fishing. Think back to his age and your dad say to your school, I need my boy to get get out now because we are going fishing so you all need to go get him. I know schools in Missouri would want to argue about it but i5 have told them myself in the past, ok well here is where ill be at that time and its only little bit over 50 miles from here so i expect you to bring him to me because we are not getting back for several days and im not letting this school tell me i have to wait several hours an pulling my boat in rush hour traffic and taking a risk of some idiot hitting my boat ruini g my whole fishing trip/vacation. They don't want to drive that far to deliver a child and interrupt their night with their family. I hate stupid people, any smart person would be asking hey do you have any more room for someone else on your boat and house boat for staying with you guys this weekend and what can I bring. You know us good ole boys will normally or some like myself will always make room for company. I love fishing and teaching others what I have learned during my life. I learned from ikd timers and only one time on the job there was about a dozen of us eating lunch and this old fisherman told the whole group he wasn't telling them his tricks about how he was always able to catch more b8g fish using a trot li e and not having a straighten hook. He did tell me that day while we walked back onto the job site. Ill pass on what he taught me, i have used it and I love it. Using a black yruckers bungy strap from the tree and tied to the main line of trot li e. Just stretch that bungy strap as far as it will go an thats where you tie the knot and make sure you secure the other end to something solid. We've used old cracked or junk engine blocks, oil free and bolted a strong chain through one of the cylinders and tie our trot lines to it. I can't go fishing anymore but I surely do miss it. I guess all i can do is divide up all my fishing gear with my grand children. They are not old enough to care for them and that worries me because I want them to have my stuff, including my guns when I am gone. Sad part, I overheard last week that there are several family members who want all my things when I leave this world. If that happens, I know my grand babies wont get anything. That what upsets me right now thinking about it all. Over 80 plus fishing poles and all in perfect condition along with 12 i think tackle boxes and they are full, some for fishing for catfish and some for lake fishing and river fishing. Depending on location, I knew what boxes to grab and put in the boat. Shower curtain hooks work great hanging from a ceiling with cup hooks to hold rods, I have the gear. Share it all, knowledge, poles, tackle boxes and most importantly share your love with your kids. Thats teaching them you truly l9ve them unconditionally. I do.
