8:54 is my all-time favorite grade crossing scene. Very authentic.

I remember those Big Orange South Shore cars. I'm from South Bend and still remember when they came all the way downtown. Car 13 appears to be stretched; a number of them were lengthened during WWII. They were built with steel, steel and more steel. At 77 feet, the stretched cars weighed around 75 tons (originally they were 60 feet long and weighed 60 tons). It looks strange to see them without pantographs.

We had fun at East Troy yesterday riding with our friend Chuck. What is of this route is an original route put up about 1907, and is an original electric route way.

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚝🚞🛤 especially antique streetcars 🚊🚋 and interurban cars like those he thinks they are highly underrated forms of public transportation and should be preserved, restored, and put back into service. He also thinks that the departments of transportation should rebuild interurban lines and people should use them more often than airplanes ✈🛩🛫🛬 and motor vehicles 🚘🛻🚗🚖🚕🚙🚎🚐🚍🚌🛣⛽ because he thinks they could still have their uses today. But he does not want that to be wishful thinking he wants it to be a reality! He really believes that if old interurban lines were rebuilt and brought back into service they would greatly improve transportation by cutting down traffic jams and pollution as well as make a trip more fun and interesting.
