awesome video Jason! I was trying to get mine up today but last night I noticed the volume was messed up so I couldn't post it. I like that shot you got of it coming around the curve in Buena Vista

I’ve watched a lot of videos of the 2816 North American tour since I saw her in May during her stop in St Paul, this one was the best! As a native Iowan thanks for all the positive shoutouts to our state. As you beautifully showed, Iowa is more than flat cornfields and hogs!

Nice full length video, Jason. It was fun tagging along with you and Jaw Tooth. I liked the shot 11:10 minutes plus any time the steam whistle was blowing. The air whistle is only slightly better than an air horn.

I always pictured iowa as children of the corn country. I never knew it looked like vermont up north. Beautiful

Although I had seen some of the scenes in this video as stand-alone videos, I enjoyed watching this video compilation of your chase of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City steam engine #2816 from Davenport, Iowa to La Crescent. Minnesota, Jason! Thank you for documenting this movement of the Golden Spike Tour! (Posted 7 July 2024 at 1630 CDT.)

Thanks for all the good coverage of a great Canadian Steam Locomotive. I can watch the Canadian's all day long. Did anyone ever think of running this tour with the Royal Hudson? Just think two great Canadian Steam Engines all the way from Canada to Mexico and back. What great film shooting this would have been. How bout this, eh!

Thanks for a great video! Not just a terriffic train but beautiful countryside as well. I didn't know that the Mississippi river was so long - it makes the river Severn (our longest river) look like a stream! Keep well.

Very nice job of video taping and editing. Your experience filming ELS has paid off in a very polished video. I really enjoyed riding along the Mississippi River following this train with you.

This train went all the way down to Mexico City, on the way there a young woman knelt in the ballast with her back to the train and leaned back with her selfie stick about 2 inches to far ,the right outside edge of the front of the cylinder contacted her skull and split it wide open and killed her deader than hell. She WAS a pretty young lady, her husband in shock grabbed her long hair and tore a clump of scalp rite out trying to get her to safety but she was already gone, that had to be the most gruesome thing I ever saw , I just sat in front of my screen and cried and yelled at her for being so stupid. There was another woman closer to town standing with a baseball cap looking toward the train and the same thing only it contacted the bill of her cap and turned it around and scared her half to death, just a hair more and she might have been another casualty.

They should be - they help save the steam loco's brake shoes with dynamic braking and have PTC. Possibly supplying electric to the pax cars as well. You will see this a lot. Also in case the steam loco has a brake down the train won't block the main line.
