We don't see many grain elevators in the Puget Sound, so I still find them interesting and that was a really good shot. Most of all, I loved seeing that someone else goes chasing around to catch the light! Just wish I was half as good as you at it.

Watching this video for the first time, this is blowing my mind. I too live in Oregon. I got into photography a few years ago. And I too was out on a county road like that when the sun set out by Christmas Valley recently, scrambling to make something out of it. I also chose a grain silo after missing the best of the light while stuck in my car. I also then chose the road to shoot. I also was similarly disappointed with the results. Everything you're saying in this video is hitting home for me haha. But the coolest part is how far you've come since 2016. In 5 years you went from this, to where you are today photographically (I have no clue what your following was like then) and that inspires me. Maybe I also can go from this to the absolutely next level stuff you produce nowadays. So glad I caught this.

Bro. Ive been watching old videos on KZbin.. all while digging through old images of mine for re-editing this week. Somehow this video is one I've missed before. Well, I see its almost 4 years old. I have the same color Chevy POS as you used to have here. At about the 15:20 mark my wife says, hey look, his speedometer doesn't work just lies yours doest!!!..LOL. She was right... Yours appears to have been stuck at zero.. Mine is stuck at like 160 or something, it went all the way around until it hit the damn peg and just stopped there. Been that way for about 2 years. Worst vehicle I've ever owned! LOL. Anyway, great seeing the old stuff and how far you have come in your work in editing, shooting images as well as your video work. Keep it up!!

Hi Nick, loving your films. Can you tell me which metering mode you would use on this subject? I would have thought Matrix (Nikon) but would love to know your thoughts, Thanks mate.
@NickPage8 жыл бұрын
+john kelly well to be honest, I dont really pay attention to the cameras metering system.. I shoot in manual, and when I am on a tripod I am always in live view.. I check my histogram to make sure I am not blowing out my highlights or blocking up my blacks.. and just go from there. If I am getting close to loosing both.. I bracket my shots and blend them in photoshop later on!

@gr8_22-158 жыл бұрын
What don't you like about that magnetic filter?
@NickPage8 жыл бұрын
+gr8 photography because of the extra thickness it adds, when your shooting at the wider end of the focal length you get some vignetting, making the last millimeter or two not usable.
@davidroberts55358 жыл бұрын
Nick, great video. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one racing around with my hair on fire chasing the light. I feel like a dufuss sometimes and wonder how others do it. Hi Nick, For your panorama shot, you didn't employ any nodal slide for better stitching, or you think it is not needed.
@NickPage7 жыл бұрын
I am of the belief that, you dont need it for most casual panos. I have yet to come across a pano that didn't work because I didn't have a slide. there is some "boundary warp" you have to do on these images, but for the post part it stitches really well.
