I started out with Lightroom but very, very quickly migrated over to Photoshop. Funny thing, I tried using Lightroom again about a week ago and was like what is this crap lol

I think I asked this on another video quite some time ago but never received an answer. I would looove to know the title and/or the artist of the song that plays form 4:32 until 6:04. Can anyone help?

Thanks Nic, great work. I've read where lightning can strike 10 miles outside a storm cloud and that its best to follow a storm if possible rather than have it come towards you.

This is exactly the video review I was looking forward. Thanks! One complaint I've read is that the zoom ring can be a little sticky or hard to turn. Have you found that at all? I assume that you use it with a monopod because of the weight? I would love to use it with a 1.4x extender but it sounds like the AF really suffers. Maybe OK for baseball/softball?

Hi Nick, I am probably a little late to the party as I have only recently discovered your content via KZbin, but I am so glad that I did! I have since watched several of your videos and tutorials and I have to say that not only are your images simply stunning, but your delivery and teaching style is excellent. I have recently watched the videos of your visits to Iceland and Patagonia and I have to say that your images just blew me away. I have already learned so much and I look forward to watching far more of your superb content going forward. Please keep up the great work.

have them but find them to be pain in the butt especially when you got multiple lenses of various sizes. you actually have to plan ahead depending on what lens you're using.....

We need to remember that the intervolmeter bulb mode will only go up to 5 seconds, to get the extended time (5 seconds and above) you must be in mechanical shutter.
@NickPage
@NickPage 26 күн бұрын
Actually, the limit for electronic shutter is only a half second! I probably missspoke in this old video, but when shooting landscape photography, I’m always in mechanical shutter

@@NickPage o need to watch those damn decimal points. My work around is my old intervolometer or a simple plug in corded trigger! Not so much high tech, but it does work and no new skills were needed to learn (unlike everything else on the r5 for me😀

Haha, you crack me up, Nick! :-) I agree with you on the lens choices, though being an old fart and not a pro, I might chose, a more lightweight lens selection, 16-35mm f4 ZA OSS and Tamron 28-200mm f2.8-5.6, but I will carry the 100-400mm GM if I don't have to hikeit too far, and really feel I need the extra reach. That Tamron 50-400mm seems like an attractive choice to pair with a 16-35mm!

Thank you, Nick! Looks great! I'm assuming the lower price because it it made offshore. Another reviewer said China. I don't know if that is true, but it wouldn't surprise me, since it seems most things nowadays are manufactured there. RSS is very local for me -- just a short drive to Lehi. I prefer local in this case. But the reality is, I'm not a pro, and I really don't need a new tripod! But I'm always on the watch for something lighter and sturdier than what I have which probably would be most anything! 😉

Hey Nick, just an FYI that the color space is indeed only for JPG shooting and does not impact RAW. But I did want to mention that your selection of the ES mode over Mechanical makes sense, but you are losing 14-bit files. That won't matter to a ton of people, especially of (like you sometimes) are exposure stacking to use luminosity masking and whatnot down the line, but if you find shadow area(s) that need a few stops of lifting, the data will be much better retained with 14-bit over 12-bit. However, you may want to try Electronic First-Curtain for a best-of-both worlds option as it eliminates most of the rolling shutter and flicker issues that full electronic gives you, ditches the shutter shock of mechanical, but unlike the comment you pinned, it does give you 14-bit files according to Canon. Lastly, nothing wrong with ISO 50, it does shoot at 100 (overexposed), then process down to 50, meaning you might see some highlight clipping. What hot shoe cover is that?

One of my subscribers told me you made a video on the Kase filters and you had some problems with them. I am certainly finding them to be a bit of a pain over time, I don't think mine have got weak like yours yet but it is noticeable each time I go to use them. I won't be investing in more magnetic filters in the future, I will stick with my square filter system as it is a little slower but it offers greater flexibility with other filters and accessories.
