Lionel is a huge inspiration for me, and one of the reasons why I got into triathlon.

Lionel Sanders; “Substitute a negative addiction for a positive addiction.”
@raffaelrusso73975 жыл бұрын
Sanders fully admits that his initial attraction to triathlon was that he was trading one addiction for another. Now, five years into an elite career, his mindset is different. He’s on a single-minded mission to search for his limits. “It’s an outlet,” he says. “These lessons are much deeper than swim, bike and run. It’s about orientation and learning how to go about improving once you set your mind on something. Perserverance. How to motivate yourself when times are tough. Triathlon is just the expression of the deeper things that I’m involved in. If I couldn’t do triathlon, I would do all this with something else.” Interview in Triathlonworld.com

Drug experience is very useful in professional sport.
@SuperPathfinder106 жыл бұрын
first a cancer guy now a former drug addict become world champion? Pretty similar story. He found a new way, body controll protection damage by abuse, massiv will power?? - maybe. Sucess in 6 years not 10 to 15. That raises a lot of questions. To many sport miracles turned out to be substance abuse. He had nothing to lose, he has abig ego why not risk it? In a field with most honost athletes there are chances. Hopefully he didn't take the shortcut. Time will tell.
@su33166 жыл бұрын
SuperPathfinder10 good of you to put that seed out there. That comparison..... Not to speak of the degrading attitude towards an addict. Im an addict myself and working out is my life and im offended on his behalf how easily you make accusations solely based on his background and steady progression.... Sickening

Full Ironman is how some people (including myself) deal with severe pain... In order to be "successful" at Ironman, it helps to have experienced traumatic events. "Normal" people sometimes don't get it...

Has Lionel ever met Andreas Niedrig?
@franklingorbachev34297 жыл бұрын
Loved it but really could have done with out the fake commentators. A standard narrator would have been a much better choice. Or have Lionel do a voice over himself as narration for the race footage.
