I was on the interstate coming back from Indiana. My wife and I just picked up a puppy for our daughter. Scary knowing I had a puppy and my kid in the car and the interstate came to a halt after the sirens went off. I saw the storm cell off in to the distances. Was wild. Glad you were safe. Stay safe!

I live near Streamwood just south of Rt 20, and watched the clouds from a north facing second story window. There seemed to be a lot of a horizontal "roll cloud" associated with this cell when it moved through my area, not a lot of wind and very little rain here, but driving through Streamwood on Bartlett Rd today ( 2 days later) there was about 1/4 mile area where there were a LOT of broken off large tree branches, and a lot was cut and picked up and put by the curb already, once I got north of Schaumburg Rd there was no evidence of any storm damage. It was almost like a weak tornado took a path just between Rt 19 and Schaumburg Rd in that area

This has been the worst tornado I have experienced in my life. I, myself had a piece of a pine tree branch around 2 tall people. And the good news is that it didn’t fall on my house. I live in a 2 story, my sister lives upstairs. And the tree branch almost fell on it although it was in the east part. And my dad moved it, so then I came outside and decided to help a bit to drain water and removing the pile away from the sewer. And lastly, I hope anyone who got hurt from the tornado whilst being outside, i hope you will heal.

TAPP, I hope I don't come off as rude but tornadoes and supercells are hardly a rare occurrence in our area. We may not be a part of the "main" part of the alley, but definitely are within the 'nader zone. Illinois is one of the most annually hit states by tornadoes. About 60 are confirmed on average annually statewide and probably double or triple that (or more) go unnoticed due to most of the state being empty fields. It's just a part of Midwest life! Hell, I'd even call it hazardous ambiance!
