I like photos of trees, simple and beautiful. Good job.

Back in the 1960s when me and my friend were wedding and portrait photographers, he used a Mamiya c330 with a 65mm f4. 5 on a tripod for weddings and a 135mm f4. 5 in the studio for portraits. Me being lazy, I used a Yashica Mat Tlr with the 80mm f3.5 Yashinon lens. One camera no tripod ever. Tri x 320 film. Sunny sixteen only. I use a 1957 Yashica Mat with a 75mm Lumaxar f3.5 lens now with Trix 400 and still bracket around using sunny 16. Results are great. No tripod ever. No back ache. Nice Bokeh at f3.5. I photograph trees too. Your photos are great. Trees don't move around, that's what I like.

I just re-watched your video! I liked it even better the second time around. Here's a suggestion: I would suggest buying a used tripod, in particular a Marconi Tilt-All Professional or the later version, the Leitz Tilt-All Professional. I bought mine in 1969 and it is the best tripod I've ever owned.

Every camera that I've ever sold I ended up regretting, including a Mamiya C330 Professional I bought back in 1968-1969! I'm glad you decided to keep the Mamiya! Your images were Beautiful. So now, I will have to add Tree Photography to my list!

Falling in love with gear is universal with passion, especially in the arts. I constantly look at gear I have around the house and think I should sell it, hell even my motorcycles, but then I pick it up and use it or ride it and think, nah not today. Beautiful photos Max.

👍 (thumbs up) for the non-destructive grooming ... and a great shot as well. Take heart, we all fall in love with the 'gear' ... cameras, tools, pipes, tampers ... consider it male privilege ;-)

Cameras sound a lot like pipes. Do I have enough pipes? I do. Do I need another? Oh, hell yeah.

That first tree looks like a yellow birch, known for germinating on a rotting stump or log, so they wind up on stilts like that.

Great video Gribs - You need an assistant to carry your tripod/gear! Recently Cassidy Rose and Xavier Charles and I hiked up to High Point State Park in northern New Jersey (elevation 1820 feet) ... #askGribs: What is the highest elevation you have where you live and hike/fish/take pictures?

Your Dragon tree is I believe a tree groomed that way by the American Indians to point North. Next time you are there take your compass and prove me right would you please ? Good video, thanks. LarryMac

Pretty sure it points East, but it could have shifted over the years . . .
