Tanner, i was in the grandstand and let me just say, it was so alive when you were leading. People were cheering you on, loudly! I saw the white flag out, but was always keeping my eye on turn 4 just because of all the carnage that had beeen happening. I was already saying what an awesome race you had when the red came out. That finish obviously wasnt what you wanted, but that 2nd place finish was a job well done. You had some drivers behind you that have thousands of laps at Thunderbowl and they had nothing for you. Awesome finish, congratulations to a great race. I know you gained some new fans because of your driving that night.
@stevedavis36632 жыл бұрын
I believe it was Corey Day who stuck his head in the cockpit after the race and said you had nothing to hang your head about, you drove a great race. He was 100% correct. You passed Justin Sanders to take the lead and then held off "Sunshine", the two time defending ASCOC champion for 14 laps or so. Awesome!!! You may have spun the tires on the last restart, but Tyler found that bit of black on the bottom of 4 on the restart and that is what gave him the momentum to stay with you on the restart and ultimately make the pass in 1 & 2. As you said in your post race analysis in your video, you should have dove inside him in 1 & 2 on the last lap. You nailed it right on the head. The WOO guys don't hesitate, they just do it. Next time, use this experience and dive in there to re-take the lead. Been following you for a little over a year, best race I have seen you drive. You were aggressive, car looked great on the track, nice and smooth. Hats off to you, Brian, your family, your crew and everybody that makes this happen. Great job!!! On to the Saturday video.

Everyone knows who Tanner Holmes is now. That was a tough finish. You had a very impressive run. In 2019 Bud Kaeding was half a lap ahead and hung it up in the turn 4 fence on the last lap. The crowd was with you. Those boys that come and run the Trophy Cup are some of the best in the country.. There will be bigger nights for you.

Excellent race Tanner!!! All those restarts executed perfectly. Coming in 2nd at that track with all that quality competition is like a tie for 1st, specially with Tyler Courtney with all his skill n experience as the AllStars Champion. U r on ur way young man!!! All still a blur? Well yeah! You were flying my friend. You watch ,you pulled away from those guys with ease. The team had the car running great. You did your job. Woulda ,coulda ,shoulda called the race. Not what happened so , so be it. Tanner you ran well. No doubt about it. YOU should have the trophy. It is what is and there's no taking the sting out of that. Just watch how well you drove. Fantastic improvement over this season. I think you and the team made a statement in this race. I am sure folks will take note of this performance. Be interesting to see what comes of it moving forward. Keep on Keepin' on!

OMGosh Tanner! My heart was jumping out of my chest when the last red flag came out. I'm heart broken for you. You ran a helleva race! I'm sure you've re-lived that moment in your head a million times. I've seen a ton of sprint car races that have come down to something like this and a last lap pass happens and someone loses. I think the positive thing is - for you to get better you have to have something like this happen to you so when it starts to happen again, you'll know what to do and what not to do. All of the legendary drivers, Kinser, Haudenshild, Wolfgang, Saldana etc have been in this very same situation and learn from it. Because of the attitude you present on your channel I have no doubt you'll learn from this young man! Keep digging. Man - I feel like I just watched my son get beat on the wrestling mat. I'm rooting for ya young man.

Omg tanner what a heartbreaker you still grieve a hell of a race! It was an amazing job all around , just racing thing there at the end you had it won but ur the winner in my book. Next night is all people will remember any way! Congratulations. You ever try settling the car down with a brake drag when you bounce off the cushion? I know its easier said than done , a guys natural instinct is to let if the throttle but that always makes you just grab and throw the car harder to the right so I was just wondering if a break drag could settle it and keep the RPM's up.

Everyday is a day to learn something new. That night hopefully y'all learned enough to do well in the A main of the last race of the trophy cup. I'll admit it you scared me for most of the time that you ran the top when you were in the lead. I kept thinking that they were going to go down to the bottom and use the short way around to pass you like you did in the beginning of the race but with about 4or 5 laps from the end of the race after about the 2nd or 3rd restart towards the end that is when I started noticing that you were able to start pulling away from the 2nd place car so I started to not be afraid of you being up there as much as you were till that last restart. Darn that last last lap flip haha oh well things happen for a reason besides you had said that you guys were going to use this second night as a tool to try somethings to make the final race the best that you can. May y'all have a good one. Have fun take care

Any real racer has had this one race in their career. I remember mine, grand National race at Charlotte MS outback track. Set fast time, led every lap EXCEPT last lap, turn 4…..I was 11 years old, I never ever let an opportunity like that go again. You need this finish to truly hone, and develop skills that will make you who you are. Remember this one, wake up dead in the middle of the night in a sweat. This will make u, not break you. On and off the track.

Thats a tough one to take but the fact you ran so well despite that late restart says everything. Awesome job and that should definitely build some confidence in yourself and the teams direction. Congrats on that finish!
