My first Mopar bought in 1981was a 69 Roadrunner, 383 four speed with the pistol grip. I bought it for $200 because it had a rod knocking. I spent $150 for a junkyard 383. Sold it when I blew the clutch for $200. My wife and 2 kids came first. My second Mopar was 71 Dodge Demon 340 auto on the column. Price ? $350. Ran like a scalded dog, but needed a new rear quarter panel. Traded it even for a 67 Chevelle SS. My third Mopar was a 71 Satellite Sebring SE. 400 auto. Price ? $450. I personally saw 140mph in that one. Traded it for a work truck, so I could haul scrap since jobs were impossible to find under the Carter administration. They are out there still, but never at those prices. Man I miss the 70,s.

Hey guys. What about the 66 Barracuda in the background? Would you have considered that? I bought a like new 65 Barracuda in 68. Black with gold interior. A tough little 273 high performance, four speed Hurst with posi traction. Sold it when I moved Down Under in 71. Hope it is still out there somewhere.

Outstanding find! You guys won the lottery! I'm thinking I would have had an orgasm in my pants! Lol! I doubt very much that this will ever happen again the way it happened for you guys! It's possible but very unlikely! Definitely a one-of-a-kind find that probably will never be duplicated! Especially because of the rarity of the car! I'm jealous! Lol

It will happen again, and again, the next 5-10 years will be incredible for finds like this to come out from hiding. Gonna be epic but unfortunately sad too

@@ChasingMusclecars_Mopars5150 One of my friends had a 1970 TA Challenger in the lime green! It was absolutely mint and all the original! Unfortunately he overestimated his driving skills and absolutely totaled it! Believe me it was beyond repair luckily he survived! It made me very sick when I saw the car! His parents bought it for him when we were in high school! At least he got 15 good years with it! If only we could go back! Lol! I know I'd have a barn full of cars! Lol

@@ChasingMusclecars_Mopars5150 yeah I understand you can basically build a car with simply the VIN and the tags as long as you have one piece of metal the weld onto! But unfortunately this is before this kind of work was being done and the car went to the junkyard! He was twisted up pretty good but thinking about it now I realize it could be rebuilt! But in that time and age it was totaled! I'm not much older than you I was born in '68! I have a little collection not Mopar wish I had Mopar! Lol! I'm down to my 71 Nova SS, 84 Corvette with an 800 horsepower motor in it, and my 1971 Torino which is a base coupe with a 256 in it but it's only got 53,000 original miles and it's absolutely miny,! I'm going to feel bad when I pull the six out of it and put it a mild 302 or 351 as my Corvette is my fun car per se and I treat it as such! Lol! I had a 72 SS Nova it was my high school car that was absolutely mint and had a 383 stroker built to the hill in it! Had it in storage And one day I went to get it out and open up the door to an empty spot where my car used to be! I literally puked! I'm still looking for the car to this day every time I go to car shows and the drag strip I'm checking Vins! Lol for the time it was a fast car, my fastest time I got out of it was 9.68 at 139! Needless to say I was very disappointed because when I was going to get it out it was because I was going to give it to my oldest son for his first car! Plus I had some big money in it especially the engine! Lol But I am glad I stumbled upon your channel and I will now be watching your videos!

Hard for me to understand how people leave cars like this sitting out in the weather for years without doing anything with them! Basically have a junkyard in their back yard.
@ChasingMusclecars_Mopars51507 ай бұрын
It’s easy to understand when you know the background. When your wife is sick the stuff you think matters doesn’t anymore. He needed income to care for her so unfortunately his shop where the car was stored needed to produce income. You do what you have to when you need to take care of your wife and kids. He just wasn’t ready to let go of the dream of restoring the car yet. We blink and 6 years goes by 🤷♂️ Luckily for this car he did let it go before it got bad.
